There were indeed electric traps, but there were also other traps that did have eyes and things. But I am out of ideas at the moment, can you give us a hint as to what platform the game is on maybe?

well, probably it isn't even that hard to guess but at the moment there are too many games with traps that come into my mind.

There is an "eye" puzzle (not a trap) I think in #4 and your drawing actually does it pretty good justice. So yes my answer wasn't altogether legit but whenever you post another game you can reuse that pic.

I draw a crush trap because it killed me when I was a few meters from the entrance to the Olmec's Lair. I had 39 bombs and 24 ropes so it would've been an easy battle. But noooooo...
