It really depends on what you want to play.

Dragon's Dogma is an action-oriented game, where you level up and gather better and better equipment in order to beat bigger bosses. It has a story, but that is merely an excuse for you to go forth and slaughter everything that moves. It is pretty fun for what it is.

Dragon Age is more of a traditional RPG, in all good and bad. It isn't particularly unique about anything it does, but what it does, it does reasonably well. It's been compared on classics like Baldur's Gate at times and that comparison sounds pretty apt to me.

So, it definitely depends on what you want to play and what you prefer.

StingingVelvet: Dragon's Dogma is a glaring hole in my RPG history. Something about it just turns me off, I don't know why. It being a Japanese company might be part of it, not to sound stupid. I'm just not into JRPGs so even though I know it's not one it just makes me put it lower on the list.
You really should give Dragon's Dogma a shot if you like action RPGs. Combat is great and particularly the boss fights are awesome where you sometimes get to climb all over the boss literally. It also does day and night cycles really great where nights are really dark and the extra scary monsters come out at night - mostly. There isn't much "japanese" about it.

Nah, you don't sound stupid. Just racist.

There are deep differences in the ways video games are conceived in the East and in the West, and it is perfectly reasonable to prefer one over the other. There is a very interesting interview to Masahiro Sakurai where he argues that American games (but I'd say Western games in general, although perhaps it's possible to identify differences between European and American games) try to make you feel as part of the world you're in, while Japanese games are less concerned with creating suspension of disbelief https://sourcegaming.info/2017/07/12/feelofamericangames/ (though of course one could easily find exceptions in both genres).

I think he want to say that he don't like japanese company in gaming not the japanese peoples but i might be wrong.

Don't know, perhaps prejudice against companies of certain nationalities can also be considered racist? I any case, I was just doing some friendly trolling because of the way the comment was posted.

And not wanting to sound radical or anything, but I think certain level of bias or prejudice against certain groups can be tolerable, even if also being intellectually lazy. When it stops being tolerable, is when those biases or prejudices start being used to justify violence/harassment/discrimination against those groups.

There is no level in discrimination, it's badly wrote , but i don't think he meant to be racist, probably wrote it too fast, i also don't like JRPG for a lot of reason and also a lot of their games are not my type. Other would say the oposite, they hate western games but love japanese one. Again i might be wrong but i understood it like this he don't like japanese games not companies in general or peoples.

This is really so stupid I shouldn't reply to it, but JRPGs and Western RPGs are not at all the same thing.

Mate, video game genres are ideas which doesn't exist anywhere outside of human mind, not to mention stupid and useless concepts to me. Yeah, games called RPG-s and made in Japan are not the same as game called RPG-s and made in West aren't same, so what? Neither are two RPG-s made in the West same, or two different titles from the same series, such as the Witcher 1 or Witcher 3. Each game, not to mention a player who plays it, is unique. Thus, speaking about something being same seems pointless to me.

Mugiwarah got it right, you formulated your post in the way it comes out as biased against Japanese company, and I was taking the piss out of it, because it amused me. People taking things seriously is why we can't have good things in life.

How is what he said biased in any way? It's like me saying I don't like Italian pasta, because I like grain-based-solid food made in another country. Does that mean I'm biased against Italians or Italian pasta for that matter or is it just an opinion? :P

Do I have to go out and try every Italian pasta ever made for my statement to be considered an informed opinion / personal truth?

P.S.: I absolutely love Italian pasta.

First definition for "biased" which comes in my Google search is "unfairly prejudiced for or against someone or something". Meanwhile, Wikipedia defines "bias" as "Bias is a disproportionate weight in favor of or against an idea or thing, usually in a way that is closed-minded, prejudicial, or unfair.". First definition has a problem of using the term "unfair", which many would find subjective, but according to Wikipedia definition, yes, you are biased against Italian pasta:D

Ah, I love arguing semantics in winter :))... yes, my point was exactly related to the said unfairness. If you don't like something, you may have subjective arguments (in a sense) that relate to your self-being and personal experience, yet have fair reasons for not liking it. Like people being generally "biased" against temperatures below 0 centigrade. Or some people being "biased" against looking at the sun directly :P.

KetobaK: That's wierd, for me was always at $4.99, probably was a bug, but a good bug.
