Denuvo is anti tamper, the real DRM is Steamworks for Tomb Raider, for example.

you really have no idea what virtual machine is, right? well then there is nothing to talk about.
there is no difference what it is - drm, anticheat, or my little pony in-brain-installer.
It hides the real game code after a layer of virtual machine, anyone who believes it doesnt hit performance is just stupid or fanboy (denuvo fanboy, didnt think they exist lol)

Listening to TB 'gush' over it in his 20 minute video, the first initial impressions look good, meaning this is actually what DOOM3 SHOULD have been (Rather than DOOM3 wanting to be a horror game).

Still, first person twitchy fast paced action that's headache inducing for me, DRM that requires a server for you to play (so probably Diablo3 and SimCity's model), as well as 40Gigs in size are all things that I frown upon.

But if we ignore size & DRM, I still wouldn't get this as I lost interest in this type of gameplay back in the late 90's, back when Quake2 and Duke Nukem 3D were still heavy hitters. No, I just can't do it.

I do too usually but it seems that doom doesn't make me sick so much and at least there's a fov slider but it seems pretty good in default even, perhaps I got used to a bit narrow field of view in fallout 4.

Well I turned mouse speed up quite a bit but if I would play with a controller I sure as hell wouldn't play ultra-violence difficulty and I would think it would be overall slower experience.

Fun fact, classic dooms made me feel sick more than once. =)

It's not the lenght it's how you feel about the game after playing it. Also difficulty setting. I don't know how many levels there are but i'm on the third one I think.

Due to the way it works it's inevitable that it will incur a performance hit, and that systems with weaker CPUs will be much more affected.

The Lords of the Fallen developers said that Denuvo was expected to incur up to a 5% performance hit. Unfortunately it was on a Twitch stream that is no longer available (it was linked to from here).

That "up to 5%" figure is in line with the figure given by CDPR for SecuROM on the original retail version of The Witcher 2, however when that came out it was found that weaker systems were actually hit very hard - up to 30% drop compared to the DRM-free version from GOG. I would not be at all surprised if this is also the case with Denuvo, especially since Denuvo was formed from SecuROM and works in a similar manner (albeit without its own authentication mechanisms).
