Narcissists aren't well-known for rethinking things, but I felt obliged to give you the benefit of the doubt. Good day.

I don't make this information public unless it's a major case (e.g. banned for racism and the like).
Be sure, I am active watching over the forums, but it does not mean I am posting. I have many duties to cover, but I am always watching. As some users can already attest to.
There will be further mods overlooking the forum in the near future. I expect you'll see them posting before long. I also expect users to treat them in a civil manner. I will remind people that the days of breaking the rules and attacking users in harsh manners with no consequence are done.
Just be civil, and you'll have no worries!

In fact the standards for responsible disclosure for such simple issues is traditionally 5-10 days. The fact that I published it after 3 months, means that I went above and beyond.
So... yea, good day.

What caused me to build that proof of concept, was the constant disappearing threads at that point. (Again about 6 to 8 months later.) There was a period where threads would disappear within hours, sometimes minutes of being created. First I built an auto-repost script to bring attention to it. That one would repost the thread as soon as it was deleted. That didn't seem to impress GOG, so I built the nuker to kill any post with ease, hoping, that GOG would rather fix the issue than risk something like that being used.
Yes, in retrospect, I was clearly wrong in thinking that it would cause GOG to act. It didn't. I guess it is difficult for me, as a software engineer, to wrap my mind around not wanting to fix bugs in your code. Personally, if you come to me with a bug in a piece of software that I wrote 15 years ago, I'll be pretty much compelled to fix it even if nobody is using it anymore.

As to refusing to have the thread locked, that bit never happened. No GOG employee offered to lock it at the time, nor was this brought up by other forum members. It did get brought up after the second thread was deleted.
The whole thing happened over 2 years ago and doesn't really matter at this point. Everyone who wanted to use JS is already using it and since I'm not selling it, I don't care for getting new users. Still, I do believe that users should not have the power to delete other users' threads even if they don't like them and/or even if someone is bumping them. I am perfectly fine with having active moderation on the forum, in fact I think it's a good thing and welcome it. My issue is specifically with other users doing it, and since to this day this was never fixed, both the auto-reposting code and the nuking code still work. It's just that nobody is using them. Combined with open registration and the ability to post as soon as one registers, this can potentially be a serious problem.

Meh. Again, this was 2 years ago. Doesn't much matter anyway. There are 3.5 billion people on the Internet, so if a dozen or so GOG forums users happen to dislike me, I can most certainly live with that. =)

Vainamoinen is not somebody we auto-downvote people. If you think he's being too much of an ass sometimes you get all up in his grill about it but I read his posts and they were not worthy of the little auburn badge of shame.
It's not a useful way of dealing with dissent it's only purpose is to mark hateful speech or trolling.
So a couple things. 1) Moderators are always community members. That's common sense. 2) CMs might be neutral to two separate parties in a dispute but ultimately they are performing a service for the company they work for and are never really "neutral". 3) Terry Bogard is in Fighting EX Layer.
