Night in the Woods is a 2D story-focused adventure/exploration game with many extracurricular activities to enjoy, characters to meet, and secrets to discover.

Well made teaser, very interesting artistic style and fluid animations. Alec Holowka of Aquaria is doing the coding and music, and Scott Benson is doing the animation. They aim for a basic amount of $50,000.

Narakir: I don't know if this one has already been mentioned, but its surely worth to be mentioned a second time.

It looks basicly like a FTL+ for me, with nice graphics you can actually see on thier site.
No comfirmation of DRM free as i recall?

Im actually starting to wonder about devs. None say it, but the way they talk seems to think getting onto Steam is a shoe in and no thought it given to offering a game through GOG/Desura etc. Really disappointing to be honest. Every game i back, 50% off drm free. The rest dance around and wont give a definite answer :/

from their FAQ on the main page:
"
Will there be DRM on the final purchase?

The Fairness Directive states that in The Mandate, DRM is outlawed! You pledge on Kickstarter because you want to support and play the game. It is therefore senseless to harm your experience by adding cumbersome DRM. You’ll require a game-key, and there will be the standard Steam services DRM, but we’re also looking into a GoG.com release that, as you know, will be the buyers choice for zero DRM."

the GOG.com bit is new IIRC.
Hello! Hope you guys can back up a project I made on Kickstarter. We just launched it today. It's basically our take on a turn based game with combined features from Jagged Alliance, X-Com and Classic Fallout. It's set in a supernatural post-apocalyptic world wherein the premise is that parts of Heaven and Hell had merged with Earth.

Looks like i still can't post links so just visit on down and look for Graywalkers Purgatory.

Let me know what you guys think as well. Thanks!

Thats the bit im talking about. They wont say outright there will be a drm free version. Based on that version the base copy supplied will BE Steam DRMed.

thanks for the confirmation in the KS comments section about it being DRM-free.

or "Yes, we are targeting to make the game DRM free."

you guys did mention GOG.com in the Distributors list (of hopefuls) for the future so i was pretty sure it was DRM-free but its always nice to see DRM-Free in the tiers + FAQ section of the KS for clear concrete DRM-free PC gaming.

As I dev, i think i can relate to this a bit. As you said most won't give a definite answer because no one wants to commit to not having some sort of "security". For me personally, the reason we offered DRM free and through GOG and Desura is because I'm a fan of these platforms. Also, I believe there's no point having DRM unless the game was required to be online like an MMO. SOme say it's because of piracy. Me, there's nothing stopping the pirates, DRM or otherwise. So, might as well work with the community on them wanting DRM free.

Be sure to check out our game on KS: Graywalkers Purgatory (can't give link coz i still can't post it for some reason)

Thanks!

Yeah he seems to have beat me to the punch...which is all good. Well, i guess like nijuu was saying, we were skirting the issue until we had to make a stand. We actually had a meeting immediately after you posted about it. So we sat down and discussed it. It was a no-brainer in the end for us..so we committed to DRM Free when we answered you. hehehe!

Hey there. If you can, its a good idea to put some gameplay footage in the kickstarter video. Just a tip for next time.

Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself here, Wyldekarde, and kudos on committing to DRM-free. FYI the reason you can't post links is because you're still a new user; users are unable to post links until they've earned a certain amount of 'rep' (gained by posting and by having your posts upvoted by the community). I believe this is a means of discouraging would-be spammers.

I just found about this, too. Looks great, kind of like a graphic novel come alive. I created a wishlist entry, in case anyone else wants to see this on GOG.

I'm hoping for confirmation of a GOG release after the game reaches its funding goal but before the end of the Kickstarter.

From the comments section:

Our goal is to provide The Mandate in a way that is friendly to our backers. Steam will not be the only way to get a copy of the game. We have not approached www.gog.com yet as it is a bit premature, but we like www.gog.com and use it a lot ourselves as gamers... ;)

It'll be interesting to see how this one turns out, if they get the funding, given that they were the original devs for LSL:R before Replay gave them the boot. I'm especially interested in seeing if their animation quality is better than what ended up in Reloaded.

Hey ! Thanks for sharing!
I hope this campaign works out.

at some point I can see about showing you a video of our 24frame rate animation that Al Lowe itself said "I like Larry's Swagger" about.
I moved on to Bolt Riley - animations in the campaign's video are from the game itself.
