As I dev, i think i can relate to this a bit. As you said most won't give a definite answer because no one wants to commit to not having some sort of "security". For me personally, the reason we offered DRM free and through GOG and Desura is because I'm a fan of these platforms. Also, I believe there's no point having DRM unless the game was required to be online like an MMO. SOme say it's because of piracy. Me, there's nothing stopping the pirates, DRM or otherwise. So, might as well work with the community on them wanting DRM free.
Be sure to check out our game on KS: Graywalkers Purgatory (can't give link coz i still can't post it for some reason)
Thanks!
Narakir: I don't know if this one has already been mentioned, but its surely worth to be mentioned a second time.

It looks basicly like a FTL+ for me, with nice graphics you can actually see on thier site.
nijuu: No comfirmation of DRM free as i recall?
Im actually starting to wonder about devs. None say it, but the way they talk seems to think getting onto Steam is a shoe in and no thought it given to offering a game through GOG/Desura etc. Really disappointing to be honest. Every game i back, 50% off drm free. The rest dance around and wont give a definite answer :/
Yeah he seems to have beat me to the punch...which is all good. Well, i guess like nijuu was saying, we were skirting the issue until we had to make a stand. We actually had a meeting immediately after you posted about it. So we sat down and discussed it. It was a no-brainer in the end for us..so we committed to DRM Free when we answered you. hehehe!
Wyldekarde: Hello! Hope you guys can back up a project I made on Kickstarter.
Looks like i still can't post links so just visit on down and look for Graywalkers Purgatory.

ErekoseDM: looks like gandalf.nho ninja'd you by 4 posts and 10 hours
http://www.gog.com/forum/general/crowdfunding_projects_kickstarter_indiegogo_etc_worth_taking_note_of/post465 thanks for the confirmation in the KS comments section about it being DRM-free.
or "Yes, we are targeting to make the game DRM free."
you guys did mention GOG.com in the Distributors list (of hopefuls) for the future so i was pretty sure it was DRM-free but its always nice to see DRM-Free in the tiers + FAQ section of the KS for clear concrete DRM-free PC gaming.
