To my amazement, we reached our funding goal in the first couple days! Now we're hoping for publicity to keep up momentum and hit stretch goals. I'm really glad that people here are interested, since you were so kind to us during our run with Arcana Agency, too.

Well, I can't judge your budget for you, but we tried to help by setting personalization ($10 each) at half what we did with Arcana Agency. We know that people have different interests, so if that's still too much, $5 is all you need for both signatures.

Also, we're hoping to increase the overall value of a pledge with the "freebies" unlocked through stretch goals. That may convince some backers that a little extra is worth it. We'll have to see.

In addition, The Way of the Tiger and Shinte 2 are in cross-promotion, giving extra rewards to people who back both at or above the cross-promotion minimum ($50).

$500/month after taxes and rent. Some numbers:
median pay rate of a US construction worker (hard physical labor + expertise, source: Google): $15/hour
pay rate in the TTRPG industry (source: secondhand experience): single cents per word
Autumn Express medal (memorabilia, metal + paint + int'l shipping, source: "original research"): €8 ($11) a pop

The $5 price for an impersianl signature doesn't make it better; if anything, it only goes to show that logistics makes a negligible impact on the price.

(And don't even get me started on how the creators mailed out C&Ds while knowing for a fact they couldn't begin selling the books any time soon. This is very much not how GOG.com does business, and we love GOG.com for it.)

It's awesome that the books are getting re-released, what with the industry dominated by lichen on Tolkien's oaks, but you / the rightsholders are going about it in a very wrong way.

Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter finished tonight, and combined with Paypal donations has hit over 4 million, making all extended goals met!

The Phoenix Project - City of Titans - a spiritual successor for the superhero MMORPG City of Heroes.

Personally I'm waiting for Heroes and Villains, and would likely pledge more to that if they ever go to Kickstarter, but any attempt to create a City of Heroes successor is something I'd support.

Just wanted to remind people this has a little under 48 hours left. So far they have been unclear on their DRM or Linux stances so that may be a deal breaker for some.

When it comes to PC space they're not even planning anything aside from a Steam release (I've asked)... While this doesn't necessarily mean Steam-DRM, it's still disappointing.

First, far be it from me to argue that this is "affordable for all"--I'm not going to say there's anything wrong with your math. I'm just not sure why you list various issues of salary to say that $5 per two "big name signatures" is somehow wrong, particularly for Kickstarter levels. What would you rather see? I mean both for paid signatures in general (where movie stars at a convention will charge $80 for one signature), and for Kickstarter fundraising in specific (where it's understood that pledges go above costs). Do you have any standards for comparison?

And I hate to put my foot in my mouth, but I do not know what an "Autumn Express medal" is, nor what behavior "the creators" are doing per this statement:
