Starmaker: I am so very sad that they're asking $80 to personalize the whole set.
Sir_Knight: Well, I can't judge your budget for you, but we tried to help by setting personalization ($10 each) at half what we did with Arcana Agency. We know that people have different interests, so if that's still too much, $5 is all you need for both signatures.
$500/month after taxes and rent. Some numbers:
median pay rate of a US construction worker (hard physical labor + expertise, source: Google): $15/hour
pay rate in the TTRPG industry (source: secondhand experience): single cents per word
Autumn Express medal (memorabilia, metal + paint + int'l shipping, source: "original research"): €8 ($11) a pop
The $5 price for an impersianl signature doesn't make it better; if anything, it only goes to show that logistics makes a negligible impact on the price.
(And don't even get me started on how the creators mailed out C&Ds while knowing for a fact they couldn't begin selling the books any time soon. This is very much
not how GOG.com does business, and we love GOG.com for it.)
It's awesome that the books are getting re-released, what with the industry dominated by lichen on Tolkien's oaks, but you / the rightsholders are going about it in a very wrong way.
