Thanks for the links, I actually hunted it down right after posting and bought it through DriveThruRPG (I already have an account via their Comics site). Ended up getting the print-and-pdf combo, plus the PWYW desktop wallpapers too. So sweet, the beasties!

Alas, it would seem you can only do so if you have your Facebook account linked to your KS account. The luddite that I am, I don't have a Facebook page, so I can't do that. Otherwise, we can exchange Twitter handles, assuming you have one. I tweet out about every KS I back. If all else fails, I could always just send you a message on GOG Chat whenever I back something new. Let me know!

Yu Suzuki presents the long awaited third installment in the Shenmue series. Shenmue 3 is the true sequel to the classic open world action RPG games, Shenmue and Shenmue 2. Created for modern platforms (PC and PlayStation 4) and built in Unreal 4, Shenmue 3 will continue the legacy of Shenmue.

I suppose that, sometime down the road, we can expect PC remasters of the first 2 Shenmue games.

I'm really worried that "PC" actually means "Steam". As this will undoubtedly be published by Sega, the prospects for a DRM-Free release seem unlikely. I'm backing them for now, but I will regretfully withdraw my contribution if such a clarification is made before the end of the campaign.

Regardless, I hope the project breaks every KS record there is. Maybe, if they get enough funding, we can get ports of the first two games instead of just their cutscenes. Fingers crossed!

"For the Love of Spock" - A Documentary Film

I am working on the July edition of my "Have You Seen This Kickstarter?" article series and I thought I would list the five indie games that I have decided to feature as a bit of a sneak peek for my fellow GOG crowdfunding friends. Only two of these projects have been posted in this thread before today, so there's plenty new to see. So, without further ado:

<span class="bold">Shape of the World</span> - A games-as-art walking simulator that offers a stimulating sensory experience.

<span class="bold">Regalia: Of Men and Monarchs</span> - A Strategy/JRPG inspired by the likes of Disgaea and Persona.

<span class="bold">Steamroll</span> - A physics-based puzzle game in the vein of games like Portal and Marble Madness.

<span class="bold">Luckless Seven</span> - An RPG with a modern-day setting and a card game battle mechanic. Playable demo available.

<span class="bold">One Final Breath</span> - A first-person horror game about a father searcing for his daughter in an abandoned schoolhouse.

Good stuff, thanks! Didn't know about One Final Breath, happy to back it. Was disappointed though that the Shape of the World devs didn't want to promise a DRM-free version. Otherwise that would have been one I went for.

I spoke with them when the project debuted. Here's the response I got:

Hi. I plan on releasing a DRM-free version eventually, but not for the initial release. I personally think Steam is a reasonable platform. I hope you'll still be on board!

Sounds like that while they are open to a DRM-free release, they are relying on some platform integration initially. Devs don't always bother to go back and take that stuff out again, especially if the game doesn't get a big reception. And as an art game that kind of mass appeal is unlikely.

One game which could use more publicity is We Happy Few. As a fan of The Prisoner, this premise really appeals to me. And the devs are committed to DRM-free, which they weren't able to swing for their first game (Contrast) and have expressed regrets about. I like to reward those who "see the light". :)
