FearfulSymmetry: *big hug* How are you doing?

Thanks! I hope so too. I'm really enjoying the interaction with the kids.
Now I'm doing great. I was too tired to be productive until after lunch time. Now I'm wide awake. A little too awake probably. Going to sleep today should be interesting.^^

FearfulSymmetry: Taught my first two classes today ... It went pretty well. Not perfect, obviously, but good enough. My coach says I have an aptitude for it, so that was great to hear. I'm absolutely exhausted now, though. :P

How are you all doing, people of the thread?
Congratulations on getting through it, presumably without punching someone. =)

ElTerprise: Understandable :)
See above - i'm good. Cold is basically gone - which is great *big return hugs* :)

CarrionCrow: -conversation hijack-

Yeah, because you passed it to me over Skype, you fucker!!!!! ;)

-conversation jump-out-
Does that really surprise you? It's always ELT's fault after all.

So should I give these cold meds to you instead?
avatar
FearfulSymmetry: Yeah, they're quite big-mouthed too. Some girls wouldn't shut up today. They're trying to test me because I'm only an intern. But I'll get their asses in gear eventually. :P

And me! I hate Bieber. :P

Thanks! I think it'll turn out fine too. :)

*some more hugs*
Do you want to borrow some tape for their mouths? Or a big stick to beat them with? :-)

I think most normal people do. But then people are strange, just look at all those who like Harry Potter, creepy people they are. :-)
*hides from the Potter cult*

Like there is any doubt of our lovely Fearful not turning out well.

*big hug for teacher, and a nice apple which apparently is what every teacher wants*

Haha, I'm pretty much the opposite right now. I could sleep right now but I still have a little bit of work to do. :P

Hopefully by the time you do get around to going to bed you'll be a little more tired. :P I sometimes have those days too where it takes forever to wake up.

Yup, everyone's still in one piece! :) Thanks! :P Saw you're not doing too well? Hopefully things will go a bit better soon.

I think the school would fire me if I tried any of that. ;)

*starts crying* WHYHYHYHYYYYYY DO YOU INSULT MY HARRY POTTER?!?!? ;)

Haha, thanks for the vote of confidence. :)

But I prefer pears! I mean, apples are good too, but pears are even better ... although they're harder to eat. :)
*tips helmet* Good evenoon everyone.

Oh wow, that's a pretty long period without lectures! Is that always the case for you?

ddickinson: I will indeed, and quite looking forward to it as well. Other than the weekend my week will just be resting and the occasional visit to the doctors.

I still have lots of good RPGs to get around to playing when the mood is right, and the ones today don't really appeal to me enough to add them to that list. But it seems many people like them, so a good sale for RPG fans.

That is also true about getting games you want on sale. But you never know, hopefully one day the Crow sale will appear and all those games will be yours, especially if you decide to share that wishlist so we can help you reduce it. :-)

I like how people still complain that GOG is not doing things tailored to them. I think the new system is good for the majority. Not everyone has mobile phones, not everyone clears their cookies after each session, so for the majority the new system will be okay. GOG can't be expected to cater for every person's individual tastes. It is just nice they finally did it after all the hacked accounts and things. It definitely makes them more professional when compared to Steam and other stores now.

No need to apologise, you should know by now I don't mind. But then again, I would do the same, so I guess we are just too polite. I hope everything is okay with your neighbour and it is nothing too serious.
Yeah, between the classics like Wizardry, the more current title of Paper Sorcerer and a boatload of Spiderweb Software stuff, there's a lot for an RPG person to go after.

Not really worried about it, honestly. I'm very much at a point where it's all a buyer's market. If I really, truly want something, I'll pay retail price and be done with it.

People always do that crap. GOG can't do every method for every person. It's just not feasible. I'm just glad it's there so everyone has better security overall, with the option to decline if they feel like it's too much of a hassle.

It wasn't too bad in the end, just took a bit to take care of.
Mentioning it so you didn't think I was just twiddling my thumbs for two hours before responding.

You're very welcome. =) How often will you be doing the teaching now?

It's okay. Normal crap sleep plus being sick. Nothing too much out of the norm there.

My desktop Skype doesn't work because Microsoft frequently sucks balls. Can't blame illness for that.

Just dress up as ELT and let him take the blame. :-)

Because it is plagiarised crap that has warped peoples minds into thinking she was such a great author. Read works by authors like T.H. White and you will see where her characters come from. I read she even tried to own the rights to mythological creates features in her books so others could not. I mean come on, people accused Tolkien of stealing form her due to similarities, and unless he met H.G. Wells and was using his time machine it was not possible for Tolkien to steal her work. But it was possible for her to steal his work... :-)

Well I am sure the loyal citizens of Fred will always be here cheering for you.

A pear? Okay, pears it is. *empties a big sack of pears on teachers desk*

*big silly hug*

FearfulSymmetry: Oh wow, that's a pretty long period without lectures! Is that always the case for you?
Yes. That is the usual procedure. Lectures start in the second / third week of October and end in the first or second week of February for the winter semester and start in the first week of April and end in the second week of July for the summer semester.
But all internships, all field trips and some classes will de done in the lecture-free time...

How is your day going so far?

CarrionCrow: You're very welcome. =) How often will you be doing the teaching now?

I need to teach at least twenty lessons, so I'll be taking over most of the classes from my coach from now on. That's not much though, I'd say at most 4 or so lessons a week. So it'll probably take me another two months to get through them all, although I might end up teaching more if there's time left.

Still, hopefully you'll at least be able to sleep normally again soon. Being tired sucks.
