Despite the Tiger Moth's age, been produced originally in the 1930's, it's still a good quality aircraft. Many places still use them for training, partly because they are nice to handle, and also because of the dual controls. I know several of the two seater Second World War planes had dual controls, just in case one of the crew was killed.

The Last Door is a fun game. It has a very nice Edgar Allen Poe feeling to it. It's a little short, and is still not finished (it's an episode based game, and more episodes are still planned), but it's not too bad. The graphics are a little too pixel for my liking, but you get used to it.

Edit: I actually like these new staff picks promos, there is a nice mixture of games. It's almost like a mini weekend sale.

Over 70 years and people are still using it for training? That must be an extremely good plane, then.

I already had the Last Door and Papers, Please, Volgarr's the one that I was waiting for a good deal on.
It works out, since the more I grab now, the more coin I have available for the big sale in June so I can take better advantage of the 50 percent off across the board part of the sale.

I think it's actually over 80 years now. There are probably better aircraft to train in, but I know many countries use the Tiger Moth still (as well as other older aircraft). I think one of the advantages is that there is less to go wrong in an older aircraft. None of these electrical things that can go wrong with more modern aircraft.

I love flying in commercial aeroplanes but you wouldn't get me into a plane like that.. due to my terrible fear of heights. Being open to the air in particular would terrify me..

I prefer my old planes over commercial aeroplanes. But I can see how acrophobia would spoil things in an old open-topped biplane.

Yeah, we were out working for the first time this year on Saturday and had a good day. Which was very nice.

I love looking down on the world from an aeroplane (which is odd, because I get dizzy and anxious standing on a roof, but looking out the window of an aeroplane doesn't bother me at all) but I don't think I would like to try flying one. I'll stick with driving I think.

I'm glad you had a good day our working. I hope things start to pick up more for you, providing the snow doesn't spoil things. I have never had a problem with heights, so being out in an open top aircraft does not bother me at all, in fact I'm looking forward to some loop the looping. :-)

I did have a wonderful weekend, thank you. The day off was just awesome, so great after a month of working all the time. I have another hour or so at work, then I go for my fly, then back to work for some more greenhouse work. But at least I don't have to work as late or on Sundays anymore.

5000+1500+400 euros omg..

Soulstorm is almost done...across the 3 remaining playthroughs, I have a grand total of 25 levels to go.

Missed my February 1 timeframe because of stupidly large amounts of defense battles for two runs, each fight usually taking from 10 to 30 minutes to finish.

But I should be done with it today, even with 7 boss fights left, each of which take from 40 to 90 minutes to clear.

The sameyness is at ridiculous levels since there's a method to defeating enemies that's most advantageous, so I've already done this dance almost identically 7 times now for most things.
It's getting pretty godsdamned old, quite frankly.

But on the bright side, I have Grim Fandango, Valkyria Chronicles, Cyberia and Volgarr to play after.

And continuing Super Meat Boy. And finishing my Dragonfall asshole run. And doing a Sith run for KOTOR. And the two Bit Trip Runner games. And so on, seemingly into infinity. -laughs-

You'd probably really dislike Volgarr in that case, since everything I've seen comments on how headsmashingly difficult it is. So I'm figuring it'll be harder than Castlevania 1.

I'd really like to give Valkyria Chronicles a go, I love tactical RPGs and have heard loads of good stuff about it. It's on my wishlist when I get a bit of cash again (admittedly I'd prefer if it came here, but I know that's a slim chance).

Yeah, I'd imagine so... although I was surprised at how much I enjoyed Rogue Legacy which is kind of similar I suppose... still, I think I'll steer clear of that one.

Well, I'm 164 hours into it now. I know myself. If I were to stop, I'd do so for a few months, or a year, but eventually I'd go back to it and start the whole deranged cycle again.

I also would prefer that, but at the same time I have to be pragmatic about things. Change will come slowly in a lot of cases, if ever, and Valkyria was on sale for ten dollars.
That beats the everloving crap out of spending roughly 300 dollars on a PS 3 and then tracking the title down on Amazon.

I think your gut response is a smart one, since Rogue Legacy and Volgarr look like very different animals ultimately.
With Rogue Legacy (to me, anyway), it feels like a gradual building up of your character pool, slowly gaining strength via coin through multiple runs.
Volgarr, on the other hand, has none of those mechanics. It's just you, your ability, the few power-ups made available, and your own level of patience in the face of being murdered numerous times.

Yeah, that's why I'll probably pick it up from Humble or somewhere too when I have some money and it's on sale again. It's a game I really want to try and it's not worth waiting how ever many years it might take to come here...

The levelling up and stuff in Rogue Legacy was definitely what I enjoyed, made that kind of action platformer much more bearable for me. I have little patience for being murdered numerous times. I rarely ever got past the first level in games like Castlevania or Contra...
