AgentBirdnest: Ahhh... So he was a hipster B-|

How could Moonday not be great? It is always so lovely ;-)
Well he was an artist, and many of them are a little stuck up and hipsterish. (Okay, I don't think that is a real word, but it is now. Hipsterish™ - As in one who behaves like a hipster. :-))

True, anything with Moon in it is great (like this thread). :-)

ElTerprise: Well i only blame Cisleithanians to avoid confusion. Reminds me of a funny bit from the Austrian cabaret artist (as from Kabarett) who mentioned what was typical German (Hitler) and typical Austrian (Beethoven).... :D
Thanks for the good laugh though.

Uh that's unfortunate - sorry to hear that. Feeling ashamed of them.
Why do you feel ashamed? There is no need for that. (Unless one of them was you, in which case shame on you! :-)) But no, you should not feel ashamed. Do you think England does not have its share of jerks, or France, USA, Denmark, or any other nation. We all have our share of jerks, just as we have our share of lovely people. We are not accountable for other people, past of present. So let us hear no more about you feeling ashamed for what others did. Just keep being your nice self and that is all that matters.

ddickinson: So, for those of you who are dressing up for Halloween: what are you dressing up as?
I don't think I'll be dressing up, or rather, changing out of my Viking costume to become a vampire or a monster. Can a Viking go to a Halloween ball? Maybe if I put some blood on my axe and grin like a lunatic...

You're right...but the behaviour of those retards tend be reflected on others ... that's why i'm ashamed.
And of course that this unacceptible behaviour still persists - i thought we would live in the 21st century now....

I have a chest in the attic full of costumes and things. We like making/adapting our own costumes, which is often lots of fun. I think the last costume I wore was a milk maid outfit. The locals were having a annual halloween party where lots of the local farmers and villagers and things get together for a really fun night. Some farm animals were also there for the kids to see and pet and things, so me and my partner agreed to be in charge of them and we dressed up like medieval milk maids.

I think the time before that we were sexy vampires. And before that we when to a WW2 themed party, where we were sexy period nurses (don't tell Endre :-)). Now when I say sexy I mean tasteful, not slutty. There is a big difference between the illusion of the costume and just dressing like a slut. :-)

I recall a ferry trip back to England from France and some loud, ugly male and female English morons drinking gallons of cheap wine and throwing the bottles off the back of the boat into the sea. It was embarrassing that there were non-British people witnessing this awful spectacle. It would have been good to throw the idiots off the boat as well, but that would've polluted the water even more.

I'd like to get rid of people like that, globally. Just get rid of all the useless, damaging dross.

If people wish to typecast a country based on a few people then that is their fault. It would be like classing all the Americans as overweight, rude, obnoxious jerks, or all the Germans as Nazis and things like that. Those elements exist in both cultures, but that does not mean they are all like that, just look at this thread. The Americans here are awesome, just like the German regulars.

Humans won't change anytime soon. Despite our arrogance we are still just animals, and such behaviour is build in to our very nature. Do you really think we are any different to when we were cavemen? We are probably worse now as technology and greed have taken center stage.

You have a (adorable) black cat for Halloween! Will you get him a little costume? Are you doing anything nice for Halloween?

I saw it fly past my window. It was making a strange warbling sound and it looked like some small green faces were looking out of its windows...
