Well. That was interesting. Ended up in a semi-coherent deja vu loop of nap, wake up in a panic, do stuff, then repeat.
Spent 6 frigging hours doing that, and now I'm even more tired than I was when I started. Awesome.

akhliber: Intel I5 3570k @3.4ghz / 3.8ghz
Win 7 SP1 64 big
16gb RAM
Nvidia GTX 660Ti
120gb ssd system drive
2tb secondary hdd
Howdy akhliber! :)

One general advice I can give is: if you know someone who really-really knows about upgrading & finding a good build for gaming, don't hesitate to ask! Even if the person isn't your best friend... they might still be happy to help with issues they are good at dealing with... Well, maybe :)

From my meager knowledge some thoughts:
-You have more RAM than me, I'm almost certain that's enough for even Witcher 3 with ultra details. Official gog recommendation for RAM for Witcher is 8 GB. I think that's what I have RAM-wise... maybe...(here's when you realize it's best to ignore my advice ha-ha)

-You have 2TB easily accessed secondary harddrive that you can run games from? If so, I'm not sure at least for games, you should upgrade that either...

-You might want to ... if you have some gold coins lying around :) ... buy a better NVIDIA - 860M perhaps or better... but you might want to ask at least a good shopkeeper about this, read a quality publication that does reviewing of graphics cards, ask a knowledgeable friend/relative.... and this goes with your dual cpu... I'm not sure if you'd need to get a better one to go with the better graphics card... I'm just saying this, if you want to play stuff like Witcher 3 on ultra.... maybe quad core would be a safe bet.

Oh, and one thing... don't forget a good ventilation! The more wind the better! Things can get heated properly, if you are playing some awesome games for hours and then your system decides to do some maintenance and then some...

Alright: to sum this up: I fear nothing, one hand washes the other... no wait that's a quote from a movie...
I mean... ask someone who knows really about what's going on under the hood ;)

-laughs- I don't need ghosts to have sleep problems. Just odd since it's a different variety.

How are you doing today?

Hi! :)
Fine thanks. Seems people are getting up early here, so me too :) why not...
Having coffee and just got my first 'perk' in w2dc, quite excited.
Also making helluva less mistakes having played the original for some 15-20h before starting the dc.
How's your day... night... dayght? :)

Also, not to spoil anything hopefully... but there are jokes and stuff that at least a bit of first wasteland gaming brings to the light of day in the second :) I have played the first just a few hours, but yeah... anyway, I better zip it...

Hey, people :-)

9.30 in the morning - what am I doing up this early?

Oh yeah, downloading....

Akh, I agree with Super re your potential PC upgrade: More wind is better! Unlike human bodies, PCs running uber hefty games like a lot of wind. A good graphics card might be the place to start if you're thinking of it being a game-specific machine: choose the card you want and upgrade the necessary components around this. It may well be that some of its current setup will be able to deal with a better card already. NOTE: I could well be talking out of my rear end here, so take whatever 'advice' I might offer as if it came from a Viking rather than someone who knows about computers. Which is another reference to Super's message - get advice if you can from someone in the biz or from a reliable source. That's not to say that the folk here won't give good advice, I'm sure many are capable of pointing you in the right direction, but if you can face to face with someone who can see your machine and understands your needs, they will probably (hopefully) give the most accurate assessment of the best way forward. Good luck :-)

ElTerprise: Hi Stilton.
How are you doing?
I actually got to bed at a decent hour last night so I'm feeling pleased to be up much earlier than normal. I also feel rested for a change :-0

How's it with you?

Great to hear! Hopefully it leaves for good this time!

I'm doing pretty good too. Got to see my brother and his wife yesterday, which is always (annoyingly) fun :-)
Morning/Noon/Evening GOGolytes, how is everybody?
