Stilton: So, what quantity constitutes 'too much'?

I don't usually go ape at sale time, but it would be good to know that twenty-ish games over the ten days or so wouldn't put me into a cell.
I think what set the automatic defense off for me was putting multiple purchases through in a short amount of time.
With GOG's shopping cart being a bit on the clunky side, I had to put in three purchases rather than one big purchase that contained all the items I wanted. I did the first two within a few minutes of each other, tried to put in the third and got blocked.

Stilton: Have you read Ray Bradbury's 'The Halloween Tree'? That'll send you right back. Its a great little story and perfect for now.
I haven't actually read it, but have seen the cartoon a few times and really loved it. I try to find a video of it online each year :-p

If it makes you feel any better, my wife and I are going as Princess Leia and Han Solo. If the specifics help more, she's going to be Han Solo, and I'll be Princess Leia. I kind of feel sorry for everyone I know locally. :)

*oh, and hi again, all :) Just now getting back to the thread, a few pages behind... just made some fresh coffee, if anyone would like a cup.

Evening all, the site is sort of working for me.
Hope everyone who's left awake is doing good or better.
I'm my usual OK self tonight.

What's this I hear about a 'pirate' RPG Boxer Dog man? :-)

Hahaha... That actually sounds really awesome. Don't know many guys who'd be willing to do that :-)

Welcome back. Don't think I'll be sleeping anytime soon, so I'll take a cup, thanks :-)

Stilton: What's a hayride about? I'd love to do the full US Halloween ...The cool air, the quality of the light, the leaves.
Farms will take people through their land on large "beds" pulled by a tractor. The beds usually hold about 15 - 20 people and are lined with hay bales to sit on. Some (most?) can be varying degrees of "scary" (from cheesy to downright creepy) with vignettes set up (a witch's house, a gallows execution in progress, etc). Some are just nice evening pulls (yes I know what that means ;) ) along without the other scare stuff.

What you mention about the US and the evening air, the smells, sounds and light are what I love the most about the season. Halloween happens to be a bit of a focal point but Fall where I live is an amazing time of year.

AgentBirdnest:
All that shined through very early on. It actually was a very enjoyable demo loaded with charm and that "it" factor.

That kind of makes sense. Three chunks instead of one may well seem suspicious to an automated store detective.

That... is excellent. You're a brave soul and good luck. I hope you're not wearing *that* outfit... ;)

About time... The forums are doing fine for me now, but chat has been plucked up all day, as usual... well, I won't complayn further. Doesn't seem to do any good :-p

Good evening, Dr Dre :-)

Evening Agent, chats OK but the forum fails to load 3 out of 4 times.
Maybe it's just my part of the earth.

Good evening. =)

Doing all right here. Should be a generally quiet evening.

Yes, it does. A bit annoying that I got nailed after trying repeatedly to get the cart to accept the items like I wanted it to, but better now when it's quiet than later.

Its all that other stuff that we don't see here that I like. Its virtual folk law and over here we don't have access to it in such an immediate way. All we have is Google - we can't smell it.

I remember the Canada trip. I took an Amtrak from New York to Toronto, a twelve hour trip, and I was in heaven all the way. Going along the route of the Hudson River the view of the trees on the other bank was incredible. The sky was a perfect cloudless blue, the water like a mirror, and the trees reflected so many colours of autumn it dazzled. I had a camera but I knew keeping the image in my head would be more special. I can still see it. It was the perfect time of year to be there.

LOL I lied a "bit" but Rogue Galaxy looks a TON like a pirate RPG (though I think lacking a character / persona to level) set in space. But from everything I've seen it looks like the gameplay will essentially be the ship to ship combat of Assassin's Creed, done with a starship in a fairly open world.

Not exactly the later Sea Dogs games I've been hoping hoping hoping for, but I think a bit of space opera with some similar stuff might tickle my fancy nicely.
