Stilton: Its felt like some kind of rodent has been chewing my groin for the last few weeks, so I had an ultrasound scan this morning and they found it. Relief. Now I can get it fixed, or maybe a zip put in - it might come in useful for something. A screen door sound good, too...

akhliber: Having them is no fun at all, but I'm glad you at least know for sure now so you can have it addressed. I've currently got one in the front seam of my stomach above the navel, but fortunately it isn't developed enough to be "in the danger zone" so to speak. I have to have it looked at occasionally, but don't need surgery at the moment, at least.
I'm quite curious about the screen door as well! Sounds a bit fascinating, though not exactly comfortable. :)
The screen is about 8x10 inches and under the flesh and well attached to the muscle wall.
The incision to 'install' it was from breastbone to pubic bone.
I don't recommend it, most painful surgery I've ever had and about 2 years to get used to it.
That's what I get for putting things off for too long.

CarrionCrow: Good morning/afternoon/evening, everyone.

Hopefully you're all doing at least okay so far.
Hello Crow :)
Well it depends. Generally i'm doing good but i'm currently really pissed due to the region lock....
How are you?

Oh and i backed Battletech today :)

Hi Crow.

Ever had a hernia? There are three of us in the club so far - t-shirts will be available soon!

Eep! I've had a good handful of surgeries, but a torn quad / fractured patella was probably the most painful and slow to recover from / adjust to I've experienced. I think I'd just go ahead and detach my quad again just to *delay* having that done. I think I'll go find that video someone posted in the thread recently of some dude getting the tip of his finger bitten off by a piranha, just for the soothing effect I imagine it will have after trying to picture having that screen installed. :)

Stilton: I'm a bit odd like that...;-) I might even post pictures!

How are your backup downloads going? I did mine a while back and it took something like five years. I'd get some provisions in if I were you...
avatar
LeoLR: I can say I started it. 3 down, 224 to go. :-P
My plan is to follow my library sorted by titles and download a windows installer + plus a linux installer (if available) + the extras.
I saw the recent pic you posted of yourself and I don't recall seeing any grey hair (I'm just trying to prepare you, that's all...)

It'll chug along at its own pace and get done, as long as your internet behaves. Also, look out for missed DLC - the downloader missed some from a couple of my titles and I had to search through the lot to make sure everything was there.

Hello! An entirely-too-giddy-and-lazy day for me thus far. I really ought to be either sleeping or cleaning, but tooling around just seems so appealing today.
I hope you're having a good day yourself!
avatar
ddickinson: Good morning, Mr Crow!

I hope you are doing well and have had a nice sleep?
Doing all right here. It's a day off, already got what I needed to out of the way very early. Not much in regards to sleep, though. Oh well, between steady flow of nicotine and two-fisting cups of soda, I should be conscious a while longer.

How've you been doing?

sorry to hear you did not get much sleep, but I am glad you have things done and out of the way so you can enjoy the day as best you can. How are you liking the new releases?

I am not doing too badly, all things considered. Saw the specialist this morning, and other than that just passing the time. I still can't really concentrate on much, so reading and things are still out (which I hate), so I have just been trying to keep myself busy, while napping and chatting on the forum. My partner is teaching a class tonight so I have a few more hours before she gets home so I am just trying to get some things sorted while chatting to the lovely people on here.

Sorry that it's making you mad. Apologies if this seems like an asshole move, but I can't help but tell you that it's probably going to get worse. Not sure how long it'll take, but I'd be willing to bet that regional gift locking will eventually be set up.

Very nice. How much did you end up putting in, if you don't mind my asking?

I'm going to push to get mine sorted asap (even saying 'push' hurts). My doc is pretty good and if I throw myself at her mercy she'll get it booked in. It feels fairly small (its in more or less the same place I had one when I was really young - two or three years old), and feels a little like retracing old steps as I remember how it felt back then.

I already have some greys in my head and face. They only pile up. :-)
And thanks for the tip regarding the DLCs.

My pleasure - it was a pain having to go back.

I probably do, actually. Need to head in to the local clinic to get it checked out. Figure I'll be doing that on Monday along with getting everything else looked at as well. (Because my general outlook isn't quite complete without some dumbass telling me I'm slowly killing myself. Will probably end up with a hole in my lip big enough to shove a ring through from suppressing the urge to tell them, "No shit, Sherlock!")

Thanks. Yes...i guess so too....which is a shame....

I went for the complete digital thingy...:)

It's okay. Too much sleep and dreams start becoming memorable. That's never a good thing. Have to balance it all out a bit.

They're all right, will probably end up picking up the two Wolfenstein items and Quake 2. No point in getting Quake 3 since I don't do multiplayer and that's all the game is.

Did the specialist have any useful information for you, at least?
