Would agree with you, there's some really good music from that period. Just have to avoid the frighteningly bad stuff that came along with it back then.
Can't complain here. Talking, playing some Ronin, trying to get a headache to go away, that's about it.

I clicked on your link, then shut it off in about a second and a half. That is exactly the kind of crap I'm talking about.
Things are all right here, it's a generally quiet day. How are you doing?
ElTerprise: Glad to hear that but sorry to hear about the headache - hopefully it'll vanish soon :).
Is Ronin any good? Think I slept wrong. It happens, no big thing. Figuring all the crap outside from large fires are making it worse.
I'm enjoying it so far. Usually not a fan of stealth games since I do stealth like a rhino on PCP, but it's fun.
The character moves well, the story is minimal but it still works, and the turn-based combat is very interesting.
It's rewarding to bounce around like a hyperactive ninja, using a combo of gadgets, skills and a big sword to wipe out rooms full of enemies without getting killed.
It also rewards doing everything perfectly, since you get a skill point for every level you clear perfectly.
The skills are extremely useful, so there's a reason to do it all properly rather than bumbling around, getting spotted and killing everything in sight whether you're supposed to or not.
Right now, that last thing's biting me in the ass a bit since the area has civilians, and killing civilians is a big no-no.
So now I'm figuring out how to get to objects without getting spotted.

Well i'm also not the worlds biggest fan of stealth games but i'm surprisingly passable when playing the. I enjoyed Mark of the Ninja and also some of the Splinter Cell games and played the most recent one mostly in Co-op with a friend of mine (who is a klutz when it comes to stealth unfortunately). And i actually really appreciated the idea of non-lethal stealth/combat etc....
The game does sound interesting especially the risk-reward mechanic although i assume that this might involve mulitple tries for an area (if that's possible of course).

Glad to hear it. =) Figuring that working at a hospital can have a lot of stress and long hours. Downtime after that has to feel good.

If you kill them to stop the alarm, you lose the objective for not killing civilians. It's restart time after that.
If you play it like I do, you'll have to restart a bit. But, they have a number of checkpoints in each area, so it's not like you have to start the entire frigging thing over again. That would get obnoxious fast.
It's funny, I'm liking it more than Not A Hero, which I thought I'd enjoy quite a bit but got very frustrated with once they started adding challenges like going through a level with a hundred or less bullets, going through a level without getting punched (that's when you find out that enemies will frequently punch you even when you come up behind them, total bullshit right there), or having to get to certain objectives on a time limit. Really started hating those challenges after a while.

Your description of Not a Hero keeps me from getting it because i was really interested in it for some time.

If there isn't a time limit, you might run across things like needing to save hostages. If you enter a room with a hostage, the gunmen will be looking a certain direction. So you have to go through the level and figure out the route to attack them from behind.
It got very old, very fast.
Also, Not A Hero is a weird combination of either being too easy, or too hard in that repetitive, frustration-inducing way. If you don't give a crap about the challenges, you'll get through the levels a lot faster. But that's not necessarily a good thing, since there are only 21 levels.
Your health regenerates over time, so you could gradually go through every level, every fight, hugging cover at all times and crawling along progression-wise.
Yes, I think it is. The person who made Ronin included a kind of automatic checkpoint system. After every big fight, after each object you find (in the game you have to access computers to get intel on targets), it saves so you're not having to go back time after time.
