BillyMaysFan59: Last night I've been playing UQM HD. Nice new graphics, nice game. Those Slylandro probes are still very annoying though.

(For those who don't know, UQM [The Ur Quan Masters] is a freeware port of the classic game Star Control 2. I'm playing the "High Definition" version, so that I can have nicer graphics and visuals =)
Good day, BMF!

I can't say I have ever played the games you mentioned, but I am glad you are enjoying the new HD version.

AgentBirdnest: :-O A badge \o/ Hooooo... I miss our lovely artist :'-O'',',,'',',',

Nothing this week. I have all the Wadjet Eye games, and nothing else really catches me eye. Besides, my adventure game backlog is already so big. Possibly more than any other genre.
But at least our lovely artist is having a wonderful holiday.

There are some nice adventure games on the sale this week. None for me, I own all that appeals to me, but there are some good games up for grabs.

CarrionCrow: Good afternoon. =)

Just managed to beat the first section of Victor Vran that might make some people stop playing it in frustration, and it only took 8 tries...-shakes head-

How are you doing today?
Good afternoon (but I think it's morning for you)!

Are you still enjoying Victor Vran, despite it's difficulty?

I am good, thank you. Just trying to not throw up after eating some lunch.

Yes, there's a 9 hour difference between my location and yours, I think. Your 2:25 pm is 5:25 am for me.

Definitely felt the hard mode on that last boss fight, and there are some optional challenges that I'm wondering how the hell I'm supposed to complete them, but still playing.

That sounds lovely...fingers crossed for lack of nausea.

The UK is in a different timezone to Western EU (even though places like Spain and France should be on UK time due to their location on the globe). It is 13:27 here now.

Hopefully you will keep enjoying the game and it won't be too hard that you end up quitting.

The nausea is not too bad, and I am getting better in regards to it. I think. Today my head is playing tricks on me and I keep zoning out and not remembering that I did things. That is a bit worrying, but hopefully nothing serious.
Nothing like waking up next to the person you love.
Well, gonna take a bath and prepare for work. Last night was such a lovely night ^V^

Indeed. A much needed holiday. Hopefully she is getting some good sleep too.

I was foolishly hoping to see Technobabylon in this sale, but... I suppose it is a bit soon for that ;-)

That's why I have a mirror right next to my bed.

And that is why I hate time zones. It's a royal pain in the ass getting them right. -laughs-

Well, I just beat the hardest one in the game so far - five enemies, two of whom wanted to get in my face non-stop while the other three shot me. Not a fan of fights where you have next to no room to maneuver, but managed to wipe it out anyway.

I get that every day. =) In your case, it'll be temporary, I'm sure. Part of the fun of your body putting itself back together.

We are doing good, thank you. I am not feeling much better, but nothing really to complain about.

Are you looking forward to your day at work?

Let's hope so, se deserves it.

It probably is a bit too soon for Technobabylon to go on sale.

It doesn't help when some countries in the EU use the wrong time zone just to follow the crowd. But many places do that, if you ever look at a timezone map you will see many places using timezones other than the logical one for them.

So would you say the game is worth the asking price?

I am hoping my head is just due to me oversleeping. I am sleeping so much and I think it's getting me overtired, even though I can't help it due to the medication. I slept for about 12 hours last night, which is definitely not normal for me.

Strangely, this week is being slow so I have a lot of time to spend.
Though, tomorrow there'll be an event in the museum and today there's a report I need to do.

I don't think the HD version is all that "new". It's been around for 2 years at least. (in alpha and beta stages, it's still in beta)

Also, you should download UQM and play it, it's awesome. Even if you don't play the main game, Super Melee (Spacewar-like ship to ship combat with bizarre alien starships) is quite fun. But hard :p

That depends on your definition of new :-). I played a bit of the Space Marine game and I consider that a new game, despite it been released 2011. I am not too up on newer games, so many not-so-new games are new to me. Pretty much anything after 2010 I think of as new.

To be honest I have never even heard of the games before. But I will take a look once I am in the mood for gaming some more.

AgentBirdnest: Mornoon, Jokes *tips helmet*
So, I'm assuming this Adventure games promo was already planned, and they threw the word "Gamescom" on it at the last moment, maybe to attract more views? Whatever, I'm not complaining. There are some great games (although I already have what I'm interested in.) I recommend all the Wadjet Eye games to anyone who likes point and click adventures. Blackwell if you prefer a great story, Resonance if puzzles are what matter most, they all have great atmosphere but I think Primordia really excels in that department.
I'm in the middle of Primordia right now (I'm guessing about halfway), and I'm really liking it. Has a great feel to it, like being stranded in a 1970's sci-fi movie. It reminds me a lot of Alien in particular. It makes me feel genuinely lonely sometimes, even when someone is playing with me. The story so far is interesting; I'm not even sure what my original objective was, because I'm more involved in learning the history of the planet at this point.
Puzzles are fun, and challenging without being too frustrating.
One criticism I have is that the main character is quite bland so far. I can't even remember his name right now. But, his sarcastic sidekick brings a good balance.
So far, I'd place it as my third favourite Wadjet Eye game (behind the entire Blackwell series, which I count as one game, and Resonance) and I'm not even done with it yet.

Ah - I guess Crow's explanation about the sale makes more sense ;-)
SOLD!
I particularly liked that the background setting is interesting and well developed, that's a very important part of any game for me, although on the other hand, characterization seems to be a bit weak.

CarrionCrow: That's if you're lucky. To me, that bundle has more of a "stiletto heel being violently ground into my groin while having money taken from my wallet" feel to it.
I dunno, some people pay good money for that... kind of kinky. Not me though!

I particularly like how one of the apps offered is "warhammer: the app", basically, GW's newsletter.
