There's more logistics involved, for the person and yourself, but the primary potential problem I see is the possibility of someone's internet going to crap at a horrible moment and messing with the time limit.

The forth and firth game were bad as well. It went from English developers with English humour, to German developers with German humour. They even turned Simon into a Yank, to try to appeal to the 'mericans. In fact, most of the game play and story in the fourth and fifth game have been dumbed down or changed for the US market.

I am German and the German version was not that bad. But the translation was horrible, so I can see how anyone playing it in a different language would not like them. They were far from being as good as the first two, but also not bad.

I am sure that if your kid had the tendency to bullshit people like you do, the other party would not be happy with that trade ;-)

Of course you would say that, you're German, you get German humour :-). But to take a game with British humour that many people loved, and then just Americanise it and add German humour is not a good thing. I did not mean any offence by my comment, just that British and German humour is quite different.

Afterwards I will post all of the questions I received for all the Star Wars fans to challenge themselves on, just for fun.

I know, but it was the only way I could think of limiting peoples ability to cheat and use Google. I think that is a leftover problem from times when a lot of adventures were only produced for German costumers since publishers did not see they could be profitable in other countries. Of course you would think now with all the digital distribution the companies would have caught up and invest more in doing good translations but yeah... they are slow.

[edit] And these poor translations is another reason why I am often angry at companies for not offering the German languages pack. I can understand them and they are often better, so I want them -.-

I can understand that. I have spoken to several people who's primary language is not English and they have said the same. Before I started chatting on GOG I would never have thought that different languages were part of different licensing agreements/owners. I always assumed it was all part of the same game and all in one package.

I have heard that many Germans love it, but I know some find it poor taste. I was just wondering what you thought? If it causes any offence then please accept my apology, that was definitely not my intend. I know that John Cleese got a big fan base in Germany from German people who loved the scene and the show. The character has had a blow to the head (hence the bandages) and that is why he is behaving like that. Not that his regular character is too different. :-)

I will probably start it next weekend, that way all the new Star Wars games will be out and other people's Star Wars giveaways should have ended, as I don't want to take attention away from their awesome giveaways. Fair enough, it was only a bit of silliness. And I was kinda getting worried that I might actually cause some offence, which is the last thing I would want to do. It was just a scene from a 1970's BBC comedy.

As I mentioned above, the joke is supposed to be about the Englishman's ignorance and ill manners due to his blow to the head, not about insulting the Germans. In the episode the Germans are the polite and respectable people, while the Englishman behaves poorly due to his injury. I wonder if this is why many people in German loved the show? A bit like the old BBC comedy Allo Allo, about the French resistance during the War. It makes fun at the French, but also at the British and shows the British as idiots whos secret agents can't even speak French properly.

Don't worry. I am not really into all these nationality stuff and normally do not get offended by stuff about that. Because nationality is just something that happens to you it is not like you choose where you were born. Of course it influences you but that does not mean you are like everyone else in the country or that silly clichés or prejudices apply to you :D
I would only get offended if someone was spouting insults or lies about a nationality and would not be able to accept that probably most of the people living there would not fall into the category of things he was talking about ;-)
