Closing in on the final day of the Steam sale, depending on what the final Big Deal is, it looks like I'll be using my $1.61 in Trading Card money on Dead Effect. Looking back I should've grabbed How To Survive: Storm Warning Edition when it was $1.49 but the zombies put me off. Yeah Dead Effect has them too but at least it's not another zombie survival game.

Zombies are beyond stale and this wave has lasted longer than the WW2 FPS's that dominated in the 00s and had people complaining. Granted I'm a bit biased, I've never been a fan of zombies in any form.

I'm actually pleased its over.

The initial cycle of games was upbeat with plenty of forum fun, but after the first few days the rot set in and dragged lower and lower, sadly. Thank you to the gifters and those who kept my progressively waning enthusiasm alive. And thank you GOG for making so many sale games available, even if we did have to see them over and over again. They're clearly still searching for that magic sale formula. And PLEASE sort the site's bugs out - they made things much more awkward than they should have been.

Hope everyone got a lot of what they wanted ;-)

That sub-genre has definitely been run into the ground.
There's still potential for it to be compelling, but even then the well's pretty much dry.

Got enough stuff that I probably added another year to 18 months to the backlog. -laughs-
Just looked at my list again to mentally assign a new bunch of top priority items since I wiped out the last bunch, and there's a whopping three that stand out immediately.

I wanted a magic item that makes my backlog decrease. Sadly it was not on sale :P

My wishlist usually grows like an insane fungus at sale time with things I like the look of or hadn't thought about before, but I've cut it back to a large handful now, which feels nice. I've got to knock a good few off my unplayed list before I start hoarding again...

A time machine would be extremely useful; I'd want to enjoy my games while the backlog decreases ;-)

That sounds like a good idea. Perhaps I should ask owl if she lets me work on this instead of her star-collecting machine ;-)

If I had a time machine I could go back to when my reflexes were better, then there would more games that I could play.
Hence my wishlist and backlog would actually get bigger.
Ah, the paradox of time travel. :-)

Paradox, indeed - I got the grand strategy bundle as a Father's Day gift about an hour before things folded ;-)
Good morning to all of you, beautiful people. How are you doing on this fine day?

Morning! Doing better as the coffee goes in. :-)
Quite a few games this sale. Backlog increased even further.

I also managed to snag some Wang.

Debating internally wether I should acquire a game I already own on another system and if I should give those dicks even more money.

I finished playing with my Wang (2013) a few days ago. I have to say it was extremely good (and at times insanely full on) fun.

That'll help the backlog, about 14 million hours of gameplay there. :-)

Doing fine. Completing the morning workout session. I need to improve that cardio for college girls...... I mean studies. Yes. Studies.

If you like the game and the devs or the publisher, do it! Unless of course there are better ways of spending the money in a similar fashion, like getting another game from the said publisher's or dev's roster.
