Stilton: Paradox, indeed - I got the grand strategy bundle as a Father's Day gift about an hour before things folded ;-)

EndreWhiteMane: That'll help the backlog, about 14 million hours of gameplay there. :-)
Please, don't remind me.. ;-)

I think I'll save them for when I'm too old to play with my Wang (2013) any more...

HijacK: Doing fine. Completing the morning workout session. I need to improve that cardio for college girls...... I mean studies. Yes. Studies.

Enjoy it!

If you like the game and the devs or the publisher, do it! Unless of course there are better ways of spending the money in a similar fashion, like getting another game from the said publisher's or dev's roster.
After some thought, I will just send in my xbox for servicing and buy them again when the damn thing definitely and absolutely dies. Which I hope won't be anytime soon.

There will always be more sales with the fallout games.

I want SO badly to reply to that, but I'm sure j0ekerr will cover for me. :-)

Btw: Only a little over 500 to go!

Valid point. I would just buy another Xbox though. :P I mean, you can buy all the games again, or get another system, fairly cheap, pre-owned or new and play all the games you already own. Whenever I have this debate with myself whether I want to buy a game again I usually analyze whether I want to support the publisher or dev more, whether my money actualy gets to them, whether the price is worth it, whether I will play the game anytime soon on a new system/ dd service or just keep it in my collection, and whether I can actually afford it.
Maybe Bethesda will come in the future to GOG and you can get the games here. :D

I'm going to see if I can knock off 1 a week, which will fluctuate because some are going to take a significant investment of time, while others are fairly quick to get through. And with those that might become contenders for the Meh folder, I'll have to weigh their merits against how much pain I'm feeling in my rear. I'm not above slinging something if it doesn't feel worth it. Much better to game with a smile than a grimace...

If you haven't played Fahrenheit, I want to see your thoughts on it...

After reading what you've said about it I'll probably have a better time eating my desk. Or maybe I should pair it with Hatoful for a really masochistic double-whammy! (or maybe just eat my chair as well...)

You would have more fun eating the furniture.

Penumbren has said that Hatoful kinda redeems itself by the time everything's done by way of sheer insane plot, but I've played Fahrenheit.
It is bad. Intensely, painfully, insultingly, terribly bad.

Game development, TV and movies seem to attract brilliant minds as well as truly disjointed ones. Pity there isn't some kind of censorship where the nutters are shown a door into a dark room where the floor's missing and thirty feet below are some hungry crocodiles looking up and smacking their chops. It would save the public an awful lot of time and money.

To me, there's two kinds of crazy when it comes to entertainment.
There's enjoyable crazy, which I actually seek out, and then there's gratingly unpleasant crazy, which gets on my nerves.

At the same time, we don't want to lump something like Fahrenheit into that because it's not crazy at all.
The writer's just a goddamn hack.
Some people have said that Hatoful is a spoof of the visual novel dating sim thing.
Problem is, it's sickeningly unpleasant right off the bat, so any grand vision they had of satirizing the status quo is thwarted by the spiked obnoxiousness level of their creation.

Alfred Hitchcock's 'Rope' comes to mind for some reason...

As heinous as that type of crime is (in most cases), surely there's room for an exception here and there... ;-)

Just do yourself the favor and keep that folder ready for the bad stuff.
You don't have to make yourself miserable playing it. Stick to the good things.
Bit the bullet and spent my Trading Card money on Dead Effect. Aye it's a mobile port with zombies but it looks like an decent B level FPS and $1.49 of what amounts to funny money isn't a huge loss if I end up not liking it. It can't be worse than Dementium II HD, that's for sure. What a waste of 49 cents that was.

-laughs- A PC port of an FPS that was put out the for DS...that's a recipe for success right there.

Yeah haha. I took a chance on it while I was taking a chance on other "budget" FPS (those that would go on sale for 49 cents). Alpha Prime and Legendary turned out to be decent, Dementium HD II wasn't worth the 49 cents I spent on it. First time in my life that I felt ripped off for half a dollar, half a dollar of Trading Card funny money at that!

I just finished first level of Dead Effect and it's...surprisingly competent. Controls feel good, graphically it's a step above just being nice, gunplay feels natural and the voice acting is decent too. The only "off" thing I noticed is that the female character (possibly the male too if you chose him) walks with her arms out like a zombie before you get your first gun and seems to share the "out of breath and panting" voice with the male character, and the flash light burns through its charge faster than any other I've seen.
