CarrionCrow: -laughs- Let's see...
Dawn of War 1 was good, Winter Assault was okay but not great, Dark Crusade's good if you don't mind no story, a lot of sameyness and some boss fights that are absolute crap unless you're using a certain army, Soulstorm is ultra-samey crap that'll drive you crazy if you want to 100 percent it, Chainsaw Warrior wasn't very good, Talisman wasn't very good, from what I've played of it Space Hulk wasn't very good, Space Hulk Ascension is overpriced but I might try it when it's cheaper, same with Warhammer Quest, Kill Team might be okay but I'd have to check reviews first, Space Marine is extremely samey and you'll do the same hit combos about 10,000 times only to be disappointed by its ridiculous piss-easy ending that's sequel bait for something that'll never arrive to boot, Blood Bowl might be okay but every time I've tried it it's gone all buggy on me, anything with the words "collection" or "deluxe" should be avoided since the people who work on Games Workshops games seem to love packing them with DLC nickel and dime bullshit, Dawn of War 2's okay but not great, Chaos Rising is okay but not great, Retribution looks like another sameyness festival not to mention that the story has to be bland enough to accommodate it being virtually identical in progression despite having six different choices for your army, and Soulstorm bears repeating because I'm learning to grow a black flower that weeps poison in the pit where my heart used to be for it, everyone associated with it, everyone who says it's something more than mindnumbing, rage-inducing rehash drek/shit/garbage, and myself for being enough of a dumbfuck to buy it in the first place.

Does that cover everything? ;)

gunsynd: Not really no:-)
-laughs- Well, there's Mordheim, but it's not part of the sale. Also, I think that's still in early access. Looks like it might be good, though.

Thanks for the heads up! I've had Chaos Rising on my wishlist for a while.
No problem, it popped up in my emails and since we've talked about Dawn of War a lot here I thought I'd mention it. Glad it helped :)

That's a fairly comprehensive list. There's quite a few I'd like to try, despite knowing they're probably not great.

Well, of all that, the ones I'd say to avoid at all costs would be Talisman (for crying out loud, look at the price of what they call the gold pack but I call the proper complete frigging game), Space Marine (since the ending really is that crap), Soulstorm (since ironically it's a soulless grinding copy/paste of Dark Crusade with a couple mediocre AT BEST additions) and Chainsaw Warrior (since it's heavily luck-based from beginning to end, including the fact that you can't beat it if you don't have one specific item).
For Dawn of War, I'd say buy the first of the series for both, see if they really appeal to you and go from there.
If you REALLY like DOW 1, you'll probably like Winter Assault and really like the added variety of Dark Crusade. (Chaos and Necrons, my two personal favorites. =) )
Likewise, if you find yourself really enjoying the tactical qualities, small squad management and RPG-style character customization of DOW 2 (a total change from the massive army building of the DOW 1 series), you'll probably like Chaos Rising. I did DOW 2 and Chaos Rising back-to-back, so I still need to go through and do Chaos Rising as an actual succumbing to Chaos playthrough rather than playing as good guys all the way through.
*sigh*

Just watched Nintendo's latest Nintendo Direct, that's another half a dozen games on my wishlist.. and expensive ones too :(

Come on lottery numbers!

I've got Talisman on my phone (a freebie) and it's ok, but there's a ton of DLC so I know what you mean. Space Marine doesn't interest me, not my kind of game.
I loved DoW when it first came out, and I enjoyed Winter Assault too. I would like to try the rest of the expansions at some point (despite your graphic reviews, the campaign never interest me anyway, I just like skirmish games with the AI) and DoW 2, despite it not being similar.
Space Hulk sounds interesting (ish), the original table top game is supposed to be good. Same for Warhammer Quest, I always wanted a proper Warhammer based RPG.

Crow did you see my suggestion on LOX party makeup??

Well, the new Xenoblade Chronicles looks amazing (the Wii one is probably my favourite game). There's a new Fire Emblem coming out, a steampunk Tactical RPG from the makers of Fire Emblem, a 3DS remake of Majoras Mask, the new 3DS itself, plus Puzzles & Dragons actually looks quite fun...

But being console games they will be £30 - £40 each :(

I think so....
Sorry about that by the way, I was trying to stay awake for update but kept falling asleep in my chair.

If I remember right, your suggestion was -

Main Character/Paladin/Arcane Soldier
Mage/Thief/Divine Summoner (or whatever that one's called)

Still thinking of ditching the paladin whenever I play this a second time. They are all kinds of disappointing.

I can sympathize on the general price thing. Haven't gotten a new console or portable from Nintendo in a LONG time, but Shin Megami Tensei and Etrian Odyssey keep calling my name.
Looking at the video now and I was just thinking that I'd probably buy Puzzle and Dragons as well if I had something to play it on.

I'm a sucker, I buy 'em all (Gotta buy 'em all! Nintendo!)
Etrian Odyssey is definitely on my list of to buys when I have cash. Shin Megami Tensei is also interesting.
Then there are a load of Wii U titles that I haven't been able to afford that are piling up on my wishlist...
