Stilton: I've been asking myself the same question and trawling through the lists for any potential pearls I might have missed. My wishlist has swollen a fair bit, but there's nothing right now that I'm gagging for. There'll be other sales, so my currents wants will be something to look forward to. I'd like to get mini V Shelter 2 (she really enjoyed the first one) but being a true Brit I like a bargain and can wait until it (hopefully) drops in price a little. It seems the only difference between standard and special versions is the inclusion of a soundtrack in the latter. Have you played Shelter? Being an animal person you'd probably get a lot out of it.

ddickinson: I own Shelter, but have yet to play it. My games played vs games owned is not looking good. Too little time and too many games. :-)

Did you and your mini Viking enjoy Shelter 1? I think you are right to wait, I am sure a better discount will appear in a future sale. And think of all the extra games you could buy with the money you save. :-)
Like you I haven't played it yet, but I looked in while the midget was playing and it looked really good. Quite dramatic in places, too, and the art style is beautiful. She really enjoyed it and has her eye on part 2.

My ratio of played to owned is pretty woeful, too. Time to rectify that. I've currently got four games installed and I'm thinking I'll add a couple more to keep the momentum rolling.

Stilton: I wonder what percentage of overall sales these slow burn phases make for GOG. People can dip in when they want (not that things have been at all rushed this time around) and guiltlessly buy a cheapie here and there and spend another £20 quite easily by sale's end. Its the harmless bunny method. You give the thing a little stroke and before you know it you're taking it home with you.
I call it the disintegrating zazz approach.
It starts with being excited and buying a lot, but eventually getting to a point where I want to take a nap.

ddickinson: They are supposed to be quite fun, very tongue-in-cheek. The Magna Cum Laude game is not said to be good, but the other two are not bad, apparently.
Quite so, but I'd like to point out while it was agreed that Love for Sail was an okay game, it fell quite short of the triumphant return for our favorite disco-suited playboy midget.

Imho, most of the merit in the Leisure Suit Larry series comes from the fact that they were the first ones to do it. And do it right. The games had enough humour to engage the player unlike earlier attempts that were just nasty.

j0ekerr: On a completely unrelated note, either my neighbour upstairs is jumping on his bed, or he is having the most neighbourly-conscientious sex I've ever heard. Not a single moan.
That's called boredom sex. When there's someone around who's willing, but you're kinda sick of them on a passive level, so there's no way in hell you're getting into it.

Good day, Cheerful One ;-)

This sale has been pretty zazzless from the start; that excitement/expectation/slider watching/timer swearing sense of urgency just hasn't been there at all. Its more geriatric by far, but I have quite enjoyed the (lack of) pace as a change if nothing else.

What's that evil counter down to now? It was around sixty to go last time I read.

Qué?

I'm hoping for some last week shake-up like DD suggested.
I'm also hoping for a one night stand with Jessica Alba.

My counter reference? I was referring to Crow's list of games yet to be downloaded, otherwise known as 'From Here to Eternity.'
Found my HoMM5 GOTY and SimCity 4 Deluxe copies when I cleaning my closet this morning.
WIsh I could redeem them here for the GOG version.

Good afternoon. =)

Would agree with you there. I know I'll never see them, and I've probably brought this up previously, but I'd be interesting in looking at sales figures over time for different sale formats.
Everyone can state a preference for tortoise or hare, but without the numbers it's all speculation.

Let's see...56 left right now. It's still crawling along as I watch Let's Plays and try to somehow get into the idea of playing Vampire Redemption all the way through.

How's the day going for you and yours?

Hopefully next sale the game will be a little more affordable for you. Or failing that I will just have to gift it to you next sale (if I had known she would like the game I would have done it this sale, but I have reached my gifting limit near enough, sadly).

I played a few a while ago, smaller puzzle games and things with my partner. It's not always easy to get time to play them. What free time I have after work I like to spend with my partner, and many of my games are single player games, so it's really something we can do together (plus she is not that big on PC gaming (mainly due to the keyboard and mouse controls), she prefers the Wii and things like that). So when given the choice of gaming, or spending time doing something equally as fun with my partner, I am afraid gaming will lose every time.

Good morning, Crow!

How is the weekend treating you so far? Anything nice planned?

I have not played any of them yet, so I was only going on what I have been told. I own two of the three games, but I have just not had the time, or being in the mood to play the Larry games.
