LeoLR: On this particular case I think I am safe.
Tower defense games is not the kind of game I enjoy.
Same here, if we're talking about Kingdom rush, in fact I'd even go one step further and say that they kind of annoy me.

j0ekerr: Well, played a bit of Stalker and confirmed something I knew but refused to accept.

I Never had a true knack for it, but I'e definitely lost whatever small ability I might have had with mouse and keyboard, I just can't do it, I'm all thumbs. I've grown so used to the comfort of a controller that it feels awkward. Even worse, my hands start to cramp up. There was a simple combination of CTRL+SHIFT that I struggled to press.
Even after all the time I've been using one the keyboard is still my enemy.
I'll probably have to figure out how to remap for those games if I'm to stand a chance.
Arthritic fingers don't help.

EndreWhiteMane: Anyone know if Retro City Rampage is any fun, at least for a while?

I've been putting them there to think about while they were on sale. I think most have been around twice by now.
avatar
l0rdtr3k: It's a blast to play but unfortunetely is somewhat limited and doesn't have the scope they were probably going for.
Thanks, it LOOKS like a lot of fun, at least for short sessions.

Well, I can give info one of those - Braveland Wizard.
Unless you have the first and you're a series completionist, I'd suggest passing.
That game is like eating a rice wafer. Very little substance, you'll probably ask yourself at least twice why you're bothering, and when it's gone you'll barely remember it.

LaPtiteBete: Haha, no problem, better late than never :D
Glad you're fine !
A buddha statue ? great ! my parents house is full of them... they travel a LOT.
Friday afternoon cider ? that sounds awesome !! why nobody thought about this before... :D (memo note : buy cider).
Nope... Still not able to play music... ):-| ... usually I can 67-75% of wednesdays !...

superstande: :)
Not able to play music.... sounds complicated hmm... you can always hum tunes at least :)
She's not allowed music at work when other people are there.

Arthritic fingers are like that added difficulty level. After a while they'll transform any game into an endurance trial to see how long you'll keep going before your hands want to turn into lobster claws.

I kind of enjoy the first one when my brain doesn't want to work too hard but yeah, I get the impression number 2 is 'same-o, same-o'.

EndreWhiteMane: Might have to pick that up when it comes around, a lot of people speak highly of it.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Well, I'm on level 6. Looks like there are 26 in total, each of which can be played 3 times with increasing difficulty to obtain more upgrade points for different troops and abilities.
There are also a dozen heroes, a few of which can only be unlocked by beating the campaign. So there might be a new game plus possibly, since you aren't allowed to use heroes on high difficulty versions of levels.
Really a great game. My first tower defense game and I loved it. And the difficulty increased levels were also great.

Sounds like the voice of experience, that's a shame, you're too young for that shit. Hell, I'm too young for that shit. :/

I like the added difficulty because it's a better way to provide game balance.
I usually stick to normal mode because so many game developers can't balance a game for hard without making it blatantly unfair as a way to increase challenge.
They don't improve AI, they'll do things like add on hit points to enemies, have opponents be able to do things that shouldn't be possible within the game rules, things like that.

-laughs- That's the big twist. I'm actually 84, you're all whippersnappers, and you all need to get off my (nonexistent) lawn! ;)

Seriously though, it's kinda funny sometimes in my case, the weird layers of stubbornness.
I keep trying to quit smoking, and I fail, despite wanting nothing more on a logical level.
But at the same time, I'll play something until I'm in so much pain my fingers don't want to work anymore, then keep doing it more and more and more until I beat something.

ah, work. That awful thing. Almost forgot it exists, been diving deep into the essence of holiday :)
Well at least there's always home, the free zone for Owl!

My impression of it is that of a coin op 1980's arcade cabinet version of GTA.

Good for some hectic instantaneous fun wth a quarter, but short lived, and without that one more coin appeal.
Am I off by much hugblobz?
Who owns the Test Drive license? We must get them here on GOG.
* grumpy *

If anyone will make a " i bought .... today " post i will virtually punch her / him in the nose .

*big tired hug* It is amazing how sitting all day in a car can be so tiring.
Excuse me for a moment I am unfaithful and go check on the other sale.

Come on, who can resist those love handles under that olympian beard? So dreamy!

Meh, pretty much nothing for me.
Portal 2 at 4 bucks is the only thing worth mentioning and I alredy have it.
