Tower defense games is not the kind of game I enjoy.
Same here, if we're talking about Kingdom rush, in fact I'd even go one step further and say that they kind of annoy me.

I Never had a true knack for it, but I'e definitely lost whatever small ability I might have had with mouse and keyboard, I just can't do it, I'm all thumbs. I've grown so used to the comfort of a controller that it feels awkward. Even worse, my hands start to cramp up. There was a simple combination of CTRL+SHIFT that I struggled to press.
Even after all the time I've been using one the keyboard is still my enemy.
I'll probably have to figure out how to remap for those games if I'm to stand a chance.
Arthritic fingers don't help.

Well, I can give info one of those - Braveland Wizard.
Unless you have the first and you're a series completionist, I'd suggest passing.
That game is like eating a rice wafer. Very little substance, you'll probably ask yourself at least twice why you're bothering, and when it's gone you'll barely remember it.

Arthritic fingers are like that added difficulty level. After a while they'll transform any game into an endurance trial to see how long you'll keep going before your hands want to turn into lobster claws.

There are also a dozen heroes, a few of which can only be unlocked by beating the campaign. So there might be a new game plus possibly, since you aren't allowed to use heroes on high difficulty versions of levels.
Really a great game. My first tower defense game and I loved it. And the difficulty increased levels were also great.

I like the added difficulty because it's a better way to provide game balance.
I usually stick to normal mode because so many game developers can't balance a game for hard without making it blatantly unfair as a way to increase challenge.
They don't improve AI, they'll do things like add on hit points to enemies, have opponents be able to do things that shouldn't be possible within the game rules, things like that.

Seriously though, it's kinda funny sometimes in my case, the weird layers of stubbornness.
I keep trying to quit smoking, and I fail, despite wanting nothing more on a logical level.
But at the same time, I'll play something until I'm in so much pain my fingers don't want to work anymore, then keep doing it more and more and more until I beat something.

My impression of it is that of a coin op 1980's arcade cabinet version of GTA.

Good for some hectic instantaneous fun wth a quarter, but short lived, and without that one more coin appeal.
