tinyE: I've never played a Warhammer game; they always seemed so overwhelming to me. About the most I can take in terms of numbers is Empire Earth 1 and that's pushing it.
They might seem complex, but in the end it's the illusion of complexity. At the end of the day, no matter what group you choose, you end up with three things - small shooty, big shooty and stabby. Once you have the mix that kills stuff well overall, you can ride it from game start to finish. CarrionCrow: Well, I'd say it's either a bunch of people doing it as a goof, or some people are, well, dim.
Pick whichever option makes you hate humanity less. =)
Grargar: If they are doing it as a goof, they are quite determined, but not particularly funny (They don't even try making a review like the Jack Keane 2 ones). Pick whichever option makes you hate humanity less. =)
For some weird reason, I'm getting the feeling that one rabid lunatic who's probably trying to write "I Heart Pirates of the Caribbean Online" across their chest with the scars from burning themselves with lit cigarettes came out of their madness stupor long enough to read a headline that said, "GOG and Disney strike a deal!"
From there, it was all noise and crazy to get similarly deranged individuals to come here and expect GOG to pull a fully-formed MMO out of their ass.
CarrionCrow: In the end, the first Dawn of War and Dark Crusade are pretty different animals in some key ways.
Dawn of War 1 actually has a story that you'll remember for more than two seconds, and the overall mechanics of the game aren't nearly so run down and stretched paper-thin as they are with Dark Crusade.
I would suggest Dawn of War 1 to play, and if you really, really, really like it a lot, then try Dark Crusade. Otherwise, call it good and move on after the credits hit. =)
EndreWhiteMane: That makes sense, thanks. ;) Dawn of War 1 actually has a story that you'll remember for more than two seconds, and the overall mechanics of the game aren't nearly so run down and stretched paper-thin as they are with Dark Crusade.
