tinyE: I've never played a Warhammer game; they always seemed so overwhelming to me. About the most I can take in terms of numbers is Empire Earth 1 and that's pushing it.
They might seem complex, but in the end it's the illusion of complexity. At the end of the day, no matter what group you choose, you end up with three things - small shooty, big shooty and stabby. Once you have the mix that kills stuff well overall, you can ride it from game start to finish.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Well, I'd say it's either a bunch of people doing it as a goof, or some people are, well, dim.
Pick whichever option makes you hate humanity less. =)
avatar
Grargar: If they are doing it as a goof, they are quite determined, but not particularly funny (They don't even try making a review like the Jack Keane 2 ones).
Yeah, those comments I just skimmed didn't look particularly inspired.
For some weird reason, I'm getting the feeling that one rabid lunatic who's probably trying to write "I Heart Pirates of the Caribbean Online" across their chest with the scars from burning themselves with lit cigarettes came out of their madness stupor long enough to read a headline that said, "GOG and Disney strike a deal!"
From there, it was all noise and crazy to get similarly deranged individuals to come here and expect GOG to pull a fully-formed MMO out of their ass.
avatar
CarrionCrow: In the end, the first Dawn of War and Dark Crusade are pretty different animals in some key ways.

Dawn of War 1 actually has a story that you'll remember for more than two seconds, and the overall mechanics of the game aren't nearly so run down and stretched paper-thin as they are with Dark Crusade.

I would suggest Dawn of War 1 to play, and if you really, really, really like it a lot, then try Dark Crusade. Otherwise, call it good and move on after the credits hit. =)

EndreWhiteMane: That makes sense, thanks. ;)
That's good. Didn't explain the fine print of my statement too well initially. -laughs-

I always forget Empire Earth is a thing that existed. Never got into that game much.

avatar
FoxySage: I'd say Settlers 3-4 are also good beginner RTSS (Real-Time Slow Strategy) games.
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Thanks, I do have those. They look quite enjoyable too. ;)
The Settlers was my introduction into RTS games. :) Then i think Red Alert 1 followed after that.

Crow's very discriptic previews should be in a book.
I'll go manager and cop only 71% royalties as it's my idea.
Okay, need to go run errands for a bit. Or sleep. One of the two.

If someone actually wants to see what magnificent MMO people are expecting GOG to resurrect? Look here.

Maybe I'm seeing it wrong, or the person's computer isn't great, or something, but it looks like generic crap with a Jack Sparrow mask on top.

But anyway. See you all later on. =)

Yeah, that looks about right.

Judging from the comments I think the voters may be children (or teenagers), many of them mention it being a part of their childhood...
I've found a YT channel that makes lore videos and they're really well done.
Fallout lore if you're interested.

Thanks, that's very cool. ;)
Saw this on Destructoid. Anna Giving Birth, a mobile game in which the character Anna from Frozen gives birth or something.

If you want a larf, read the comments on the store page. It's like the return of Jack Keane 2. :D

Yes I see, well he still hasn't accepted the deal as yet.

I get 71% (Silent Partner)
Taxman gets 25%

I think it's a very FAIR DEAL:-)
Good day, everyone!

How are we all this lovely day?

Thank you for all the concerned comments, big hugs all around. *Hugs!*

I am a bit late replying, but I have not been online for a day or so.

EndreWhiteMane: Either that or you're still young enough to think the world would stop spinning if you got off for a day or two.
Why do I hear so much a younger me in that sentence? :-)
The world may not stop spinning, but a farm does not run itself, especially not one with animals. If I were to take the time off with no one to cover me, what would happen to the animals and my other responsibilities?

How are you feeling after your procedure, any nasty side effects or pains?

ddickinson: I understand you not wanting to share, but you should know that that's what friend are for, to help support you when you are down, and to generously offer you the option of accepting Fist Puncher. ;-)

HypersomniacLive: Which I will graciously accept, after all, I don't want to be ungrateful. So thank you, send me the gift code straight away. It's my number one wishlished game, I don't know how I was ever able to live without it.
Fixed it for you. ;-)

avatar
HypersomniacLive: That's what we all say to ourselves. Just watch out for any sings that may say "girl, you're overdoing it, you need to stop and take a break!". ;-)

Have a good rest.
I had those signs weeks ago :-). But thank you for the concern. Is this a softer side of Hyper I am seeing? ;-)

avatar
SalarShushan: @ddickinson My best wishes for your parents continuing to recover (rapidly) from their helath issues, and may your brother heal up very soon as well.
Thank you. My brother is now back at work, thankfully it was just a short term virus.

IAmSinistar: Pheasant is awesome. I had it for the first time at a local French bistro a couple years ago, and it is the king of fowl. More succulent than chicken, more flavourful than turkey, it is sublime.

I am glad to hear your parents are doing better! I trust that translates to better times for you too, or such is my hope.
I agree with you about Pheasant. I don't have it often, but it really is a very tasty bird.

My parents improved health should help ease my workload, eventually. They will still need some time to recover at home, but I'm sure everything will be find.

ddickinson: Good day, everyone!
Good day, dd.
I was watching a video of one of my favorite comedians last night, and it made me think of you.
I'm sure you'll hate it :P

Hi DD! I'm feeling fine, no side effects left. Glad things might wind down for you a bit soon. ;)
