LaPtiteBete: Hey, Ghost, thanks a lot for this very interesting and complete review !!!
**Big thank you happy hug**
I'm really temptedd by Metro... the only thing that still makes me hesitate is that it needs you to explore the world to find filters, as you said ; I have a very bad sense of direction, in games as much as in real life... :-) ... I figure that we don't have much time to study a map in this kind of kicking-asses games... !
I bought Saints Row 2 & 3 ; haven't tried them yet... I wondered if they were very different from GTA (San Andreas)... :-)
Thanks again for your awesome and very useful reply !! \o/ +1 +1 +1 +1
Well, with Last Light, if you don't explore, you should be able to find a filter or new mask or two along the way, just enough to get through the level. And if you die, the automatic save places are well placed so that you can die a few times finding your way, or looking around a bit.

There was one spot where I ran out of filter time (accidently exchanged filters too soon a couple times and didn't explore), and it was at the end of a level close to the end of the game and the save point was not far enough back, so I almost gave up, thinking that my character died before ending the story... :P (you do have access to the different missions if you want to start over on an earlier one). But, I just ran through the level as quickly as possible, made it to the end, and did finish! heh!

I have the GTA games (for the PS2). They were ok, if I remember right, San Andreas had the best story, and the Miami one had the best music. I didn't get SR2, maybe in another sale... Saints Row 3 was way more over-the-top in ridiculousness, in every way than those GTA games. Less music I think, and possibly a smaller world. It was easy to get lost in the sandbox of GTA games, and I can't remember ever finishing the stories of them either. heh!

l0rdtr3k: Well,I just verified my accound and CC. But do I really need to verify my bank account?
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I'm not sure because I did mine right away, I do know that the more 'funding sources' you add the better.
As far as I know one CC is all that's really required, the bank account is optional.
Do I need to unlock my CC even with Paypal?

Stilton: We've been planning a house move since about 1850, at least it seems that long (if any reading this recall my long ago announcement, no, it still hasn't happened) but we're seeing a house on Saturday that we all like the look of. Its in a beautiful part of Wiltshire and perfect for a new addition to the family. Our daughter has wanted a dog for ages (where we live now isn't really the right place) and judging by the fun you're having, and move permitting (please let it work this time), fingers crossed pretty soon we'll be a foursome. It'll do all of us a lot of good.
avatar
akhliber: That sounds awesome! I really hope it works out for you, and that you're able to go forward with a move soon!
I'm a believer in positive thought, so the more you can send, the better for us!!
avatar
l0rdtr3k: Made my paypal account.
Does it take long to confirm the payment?Because I confirmed my CC.
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: Can't really remember, I've had an account since they went into business, that's a lotta years. :-)
I know I can change CC's instantly but I think the checking account took a couple of days.
Until that happened I was not a 'verified' member but could still buy things.
Out of curiosity, what would you say has changed most with GoG (feature implementation and community wise) since it began?
I've only been around for a little while and stopped lurking recently, thought it would be prudent to ask a regular.

Shapez64: That sucks man, you might be back in the green for the Steam sales though! Well, provided that isn't a dirty word around here..
I personally don't use it, but you'll find plenty of people on the forums here who do. Generally people don't have a problem at all - you'll find once in a while someone will make a dumb comment about how much GoG sucks and why can't they be like Steam, at which point there might be a few choice responses. But for the most part Steam isn't too bad a word here ;)

And of course there are trolls on all "sides" but your best course of action there is the old one... Don't Feed the Trolls ;)

*edit to add Someone needs to find me that image and attach it so I can get a quick laugh. I guess I could just image search it...

Can't answer that, I've never had to 'unlock' a card.

What do you mean with 'unlock'? I never had to unlock my CC...

GhostwriterDoF: Kingdom Rush is a gem of a game. ...
avatar
CarrionCrow: Started playing that last night and it's enjoyable. I'm usually crap at tower defense-type games, but it looks like they put some effort into making it fun and providing different options with the star-based upgrade system and the heroes you can choose from.
Howdy Crow! Good to see you, been reading about your legendary Sale Exploits... glad your finding time to play some of them. :)

GoG sales has introduced a few new genres of gameplay to my game playing menu too, that's for sure. As far as Tower Defense games go, Kingdom Rush is one of the most accessible, I think. Simple yet good action, and all the artwork and music come together nicely.

Infested Planet is just as accessible and charming as well, for those of us who are just getting into the TD games. And A.I. Wars is a bit more complex, but well worth getting, if you enjoy a more strategic freedom and sci-fi/space atmosphere. Lets not forget Pixel Junk Monsters too, which has an odd type gameplay, but it didn't draw me into the game as much as the top three mentioned above.

GhostwriterDoF: I have some squash that needs cooking, thawing some chicken breasts and trying to decide on weather to make a pasta dish or make a spicy dish over rice.
avatar
EndreWhiteMane: I'd go with the rice dish, that'd be yummy with squash. :-)
Aloha Endre! :)

I think I'll sway towards your suggestion, and make it a spicy dish over rice, :)

If I had some heavy cream and the right cheese to make a sauce, I would probably make the pasta dish. heh!

Maybe it's a bank issue or country specific currency conversion issue. Some banks require an unlock for overseas purchases. Likewise, some countries restrict how much of their currency they allow overseas in the form of capital controls or limited purchases by citizens.

Welcome, glad you came out of 'lurk land'. :-)
The biggest change in my opinion was the introduction of Galaxy and the revamp of the website that accompanied it.
It changed the way many things worked, in my opinion not always for the better. That's just my opinion though.
We've had many new members here due to Witcher 3 and Galaxy, not all of them the nicest people in the world.
It's still a great place and the home of DRM free, the 'growing pains' get a bit much sometimes though.
Look at the first post in this thread and follow those simple rules there and you'll do great, this is a fun and awesome thread. :-)

Hey Shapez, don't worry, I'm new one to this thread as well, I have been here like the last 4-5 days.
