I can't remember which game it was I was playing - a horror title - and I was in the obligatory dark room, headphones on, completely gripped by what was going on and as tense as hell.....and my daughter tapped me on the shoulder. The room where I game is arranged so the door is behind me and I had no idea she was there. Hearing a large Viking scream is not a pleasurable experience, from either side. It was some innocent enquiry and she had no idea or intention of scaring me. Kids, gotta love 'em ;-)

I'm glad to hear you've improved since stopping! I'm not quite functional without taking it currently, but this is my 10th year taking it, and I can only imagine how much better I'll feel when (well, "if and when" if I'm to be a realist, but I'm feeling the optimist part today) I'm able to stop it myself. I feel the same way about antipsychotics, which I took for about as many years, but when the chronic nausea/emesis began six years ago, the inconsistency with which I held down my medications caused all kinds of problems, but most were related to antipsychotics. I hated all of them and the "checked out / unavailable" place they'd leave me in cognitively / emotionally, so it was a huge relief when I was able to convince my doctor they were doing me more harm than good, especially when I couldn't keep them down regularly. About a year into the belly-sick I was able to convince my doc that I truly do prefer my hallucinations and "differences" over those medications, and that no matter how "off center" I may get, it's never going to lead to me being a threat to others, and I can't even put to words how much healthier I feel in my head with that mess out of the picture.
I may still need the clonazepam until I can find an alternative that works for me, but I can only imagine how much healthier I'll feel once I can knock this one out of the picture as well.

I hope the side effects you're still dealing with pass soon!

While both are good games, I personally preferred Outlast more. For an indie game it is quite good, nothing spectacular, but a fun game. With some very nice jump scares. :-)
