j0ekerr: We're in the final hour run. And you know what that means. Time for some rushed last minute decisions.

Hurm, not really that much that catches my eye. Well, maybe the cat lady but I am not entirely convinced about its "brown pants" potential.
Plus I think I will not outlast Outlast.

ddickinson: I found Outlast to be quite fun, and not too difficult (IMO). it does suffer a little in the middle of the game, as it becomes chase after chase, but overall it was a very fun game. Played best in the dark and with headphones on. :-)
I can't remember which game it was I was playing - a horror title - and I was in the obligatory dark room, headphones on, completely gripped by what was going on and as tense as hell.....and my daughter tapped me on the shoulder. The room where I game is arranged so the door is behind me and I had no idea she was there. Hearing a large Viking scream is not a pleasurable experience, from either side. It was some innocent enquiry and she had no idea or intention of scaring me. Kids, gotta love 'em ;-)

AgentBirdnest: Yep, that's the one. (I don't mind anyone asking, no worries.)
I took it for 11 years... I finally realized that it was no longer helping me, which meant I should either increase it again, or try life without it for a while. Spent about 5 months weening off before ceasing. Luckily, my mental state has really improved since lowering and stopping (not trying to preach or anything, it is just my experience.) Still dealing with things like twitching, random head and abdominal pains, and haven't been able to sleep well... Hopefully those will pass soon.
I'm glad to hear you've improved since stopping! I'm not quite functional without taking it currently, but this is my 10th year taking it, and I can only imagine how much better I'll feel when (well, "if and when" if I'm to be a realist, but I'm feeling the optimist part today) I'm able to stop it myself. I feel the same way about antipsychotics, which I took for about as many years, but when the chronic nausea/emesis began six years ago, the inconsistency with which I held down my medications caused all kinds of problems, but most were related to antipsychotics. I hated all of them and the "checked out / unavailable" place they'd leave me in cognitively / emotionally, so it was a huge relief when I was able to convince my doctor they were doing me more harm than good, especially when I couldn't keep them down regularly. About a year into the belly-sick I was able to convince my doc that I truly do prefer my hallucinations and "differences" over those medications, and that no matter how "off center" I may get, it's never going to lead to me being a threat to others, and I can't even put to words how much healthier I feel in my head with that mess out of the picture.
I may still need the clonazepam until I can find an alternative that works for me, but I can only imagine how much healthier I'll feel once I can knock this one out of the picture as well.

I hope the side effects you're still dealing with pass soon!

Why everyone ignores me in here? It's like talking to a brick wall, really. Is it because of my Rep?! Fair enough then!

j0ekerr: I thought as much I think I'll leave the cat lady to her felines and explore an overrun asylum.
I worry that it'll feel too homely though.
While both are good games, I personally preferred Outlast more. For an indie game it is quite good, nothing spectacular, but a fun game. With some very nice jump scares. :-)

That must have been some sight. A fully armoured Viking screaming like a little girl just because a little girl touched him. Your daughter must be one powerful little Valkyrie. :-)

Always carry a plastic mannequin in your bag of holding in case of any wandering pyramid heads.

gunsynd: Hello.
Hello gunsynd, how are you?
Hi everyone, I'm not usually around at this time, but as I explained earlier, I'm nursing a hand with a large chunk missing. :-)

Please when you have a chance, go to this thread and add your +1 for dd, the great ninja-gifter.

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/give_received_summer_sale_2015_free_game_keys_here/post135

I had been very careful not to post about any games in this thread, or to make my wishlist visible, because I'm not able to reciprocate any gifts at the moment, but dd found me elsewhere!

I thought I was safe there, and although I don't usually ask for gifts, @Sinistar knows that I have done my fair share of gifting when I was able, so i knew it would be ok to ask him. And suddenly up popped dd, out of nowhere, rather like your daughter, @Stilton, although I didn't scream! ;-) I had to laugh at that.

Thank you, dd, for your generosity, it is greatly appreciated. It is no wonder you are a happy person, when you give so much to others.
