tinyE: And that I'm gonna argue with. I think she can write very well. That's part of the reason she can get away with borrowing everything, she can actually write.
She
can write, no question on that, she can write, funny, charming, optimistic, whimsical children books. The early ones were the best precisely because of that. And I loved them. But as the books slowly became more grim and gritty I lost all interest in them. Reading through them was a chore, and too often I felt the characters were given the idiot ball for the sake of plot.
I never got around to reading the last one because of that.
