ddickinson: I believe that is the avatar you had when I first started chatting with you, so that would be fine by me, but you need permission form Moon first. :-)

Mine is due to being very tired and very exhausted. These last few weeks or long and hard days are starting to take their toll.

How are you liking the Nordic sale, see anything that catches your eye?

*big return hug*
Haha yes, I should send in a written request. :P

Yeah, I can imagine. That much stress and exhaustion gets to you eventually. I'm crossing my fingers you'll start feeling better when things quiet down! :)

I'm thinking about maybe getting Black Mirror 3 to complete the collection. I got the other two when Nordic left, and although I haven't gotten around to playing them yet, it feels weird to leave a series unfinished. :P
avatar
ddickinson: What is your project for, if you don't mind me asking? It sounds interesting, especially with their being radio interviews.

If you give me a moment, you shall find a nice surprise in your PM. :-)

I am still soaking wet (I am taking a quick break in a barn while I finish my lunch). But you are welcome to a big wet hug, at least most of the mud has washed away now. You are making me so jealous of the nice warm bed. I am working 18+ hours a day at the moment and all I want is to get home, get a hot bath, and cuddle up with my partner in our nice warm bed and get some much needed rest. But sadly I still have a few more hours to go.
It's a project to get us a place to live and make some money while we're at it. :D More seriously, the husband wants to buy land and work on algae farming via hydroponics while we work at permaculture. There's a baby website at dancingdragonspermaforest.com, but there's basically no content there yet. (I'm working on it, I swear...) We're looking at crowdfunding for part of it, although I'm not holding my breath. He's pretty set on that; I'm thinking that maybe a gofundme at the same time, for moving costs, might not be a bad idea, but I'm not sure if that irritates people. :/

And see? See? That was why the suspicious stare. :P More seriously, you're a sweetheart, and thank you in advance. *hugs*

I don't mind wet hugs from people I like. *g* I'm sorry you're having to work such long days right now. Is this a temporary thing due to the season? I know certain parts of the year are busier for farming/ranching folks (and hey, I might end up learning that for myself in the future, at least a little...). I certainly hope you get a chance to dry off and warm up before cold sets in. That sort of chilled-to-the-bone is miserable.

avatar
FearfulSymmetry: Yeah, at the moment mine are mostly related to my neck injury. I overtaxed my neck at the start of the week and I did a pretty intense yoga workout yesterday which has temporarily worsened the situation. I think that might factor into my headache. :P Yep, tea works pretty well on my headaches, so I think I'll have a nice cup. Normally I refrain from using painkillers but this headache is so shitty I've just taken two. :P

Headaches suck, don't they? :P
Eeee. *sympathetic hugs* I've learned that somebody doing a neck/base of the skull rub really helps, too, but that's much more difficult to come by than painkillers. (My husband is wonderful, but has a short attention span. lol) I wish you the best of luck in getting rid of it quickly! (And yes; yes, they do. SO MUCH. People who are lucky enough not to get them often just don't understand.)

Oh, and to everyone: sorry for not doing my Conversational FFA Thread Song of the Day stuff while I was gone. I can start it back up right now. :D

With that being said........

Yay, I love ELO!

Good to hear you had a nice camping trip. :)

penumbren: As always, GOG releases things after we spend money on food and other important things. :P

Has anyone else had the oddity of starting up Star Trek: 25th Anniversary and having it freeze? I haven't tried it again yet, but when I started it up last night, it loaded fine, and the voices/sound effects were great, but it froze (visually) on the first shot of not-Orion-at-all until I put it in windowed mode, and then it froze again on another frame. Very odd. Running it windowed is not my first choice, but if it comes down to it, I'd rather do that than have it not run at all.
Try going into graphics setup and setting it to opengl?
I never even try a game before I do that.

Edit: Sorry, they call it dosbox settings in the regular menu, it's graphic mode setup in Galaxy.

On a DOSbox game? Does that matter? (Serious question. Like I said somewhere else, I missed pretty much all of the mid-90s until last year of computer gaming, so 'common' tricks aren't common to me. :)

Glad to hear your camping trip went well! The husband's been wanting to go camping, but I think our next opportunity will be when my family reunion rolls around in July.

ELO! I heartily approve! :D

Have there been any Nordic games that caught your eye?

Make sure it is in German, that will please her and make it more likely for her to accept. :-)

Sadly things will be this way for a few more weeks yet, but I should be fine, I just can't wait for Saturday evening and Sunday when I finally get some time off. All I want right not is to be cuddled up in my nice big bed.

I have not played the first two Black Mirror games, but I picked up the third one due to the reasons you mentioned, and also to take advantage of the 75% discount if you own the other two.

Algae farming via hydroponics sound really interesting. I hope things will go great for you two and you get everything you want from it, you two deserve to be happy together.

See what? I do not know what you mean. :-)

It is due to the season, as spring is a very busy time, what with the end of the winter season and getting things ready for the summer. But it's also due to some injuries one of my brothers has (he cut his arm open quite deeply), and some other issues with another brother (who lost his niece recently), so all that is causing a lot more work at the moment.

It has improved the graphics a lot on some of my games.
That setting IS a dosbox setting.

Aww, thank you. It's nice to hear good things about the idea from other people. I'm utterly clueless, and he's still learning, so... we'll see? :)

You very silly, very lovely woman. *big thank-you hugs*

Very sorry to hear about the injury and the family loss - I hope everyone is recovering well. (As well as can be, anyway. General platitudes suck, but sometimes that's all you can really say. :S ) I do hope things calm down for you soon, at least.

Yeah, the discount is pretty tempting, so I think I'll pick it up. :P

Yes, quite well, thanks :-)

Welcome back! Did you have a nice time?

Hello! Welcome to the conversation thread. There are not many rules, just make sure you are polite and... Oh! It's you, Fearful, I almost did not recognise you. I though you were one of those outsiders coming to visit. :-)

I am glad to hear you had a nice day with your grandmother. I can relate to you nasty headache, I have had one all afternoon, as well as feeling like I am going to be sick.

*big hug*

I still don't know what you mean, I did not do anything. :-)

Thank you for the kind words. My brother who cut his arm will be fine, he is just bloody clumsy :-). But sadly my other brother, and especially his wife, will take a long time to get better. It's so horrible and hard losing a baby, it makes me well up a little just talking about it, so I can't imagine how bad it is for them.

I would go for it, what's the worse that could happen. :-)

I think tomorrow will drag a little, especially as it's another long day. But at least I have my romantic evening to look forward to on Saturday, just as long as I can stay awake (which I joke about, but I genuinely do hope that I can stay awake, as I love our romantic dinner and things we always do together on a Saturday, that and spending the whole day with my partner on Sunday is the highlight of the whole week for me).

I am always torn when I get home. I am so tired that I just want to sleep, but that is also the only time I can spend with my partner during the day while I am working so hard. It will probably be like last night, were I fell asleep on the sofa while sitting with her. She doesn't mind, as she knows how exhausted I am, but I miss her quite a lot when I am working these kind of hours (becasue I am a big softie at heart).
