BillyMaysFan59: Welp, gonna get busy with a few things, then continue my frigid combat-filled adventures in Icewind Dale.
Continued good fortune to you. Think I'll be starting my run of that tonight, use that as a springboard to finally clearing the entirety of the D&D bundle.

ElTerprise: Uhm..I think i'll go to bed now. Just had a short nap in my chair....
So Good Night everyone! *good night hugs and waves*

See you all later :)
Have a good night, sleep well. =)

EndreWhiteMane: Howdy folks, errands done and back again.
Welcome back! *big hug*

Did your errands go okay? How are you today, is your knee feeling any better?

Errands a-ok, knee not so much but improving a bit. ;)

CarrionCrow: I think I would make your tendency of going very large-scale that much worse right now. -laughs-

Right away, magic is one of those things that can sprawl out like there's no tomorrow, systems-wise.
I haven't even started thinking about magic yet... but I have an idea of what I want (basically there are three types of magic; sight, which includes prophecies and farsight as well as being able to recall past events; art, traditional magic which can be used to affect the world, like fireballs and healing; and craft, which is basically the making of magical items, charms, living constructs like golems) and there will be a mana like system backing it up, but beyond that magic is still very much up in the air.

Honestly, it's going to happen anyway, so there's no need to hold back... :)
As long as I can keep telling myself that it will be 2D with ASCII art than I can manage everything else (art and complicated animation / physics is usually what gets me)

That's unfortunate that your knee is not doing so good, but I am glad to hear it is improving a little. Lets hope it will keep improving and will be fine in no time.

Have you have a nice day? Done anything interesting?

Boring day here (which is a good thing) a little housework and a lot of sleep.

ddickinson: Perhaps you are just waiting for the perfect game to come along. Until then you are just practising and learning new skills. But as long as you are having fun and treating it more like a fun hobby, then that is good, and makes it a lot more enjoyable for you.

This year has been a busy year for me at work, but it's not too bad, I love my work and would not do any other job. Although I would like some more free time to spend with my partner. I am sure my weekend will be great, just what I needed to help me unwind after the last few months.

Maybe you could eventually keep a weekend free and try not to book any work, that way you could use that free time to enjoy yourself. But I guess it's hard to turn down work during the spring and summer seasons, especially as you are not sure what winter will be like.
The perfect game has been sitting in my head slowly evolving for years, but I'm nowhere near having the time or skills to make it. What I'm planning now is a cut down version that should hopefully grasp a lot of bigger ideas and only miss out some of the eye candy and accessibility.
But if this iteration doesn't work, one of them will eventually :)

The problem was we booked events for the summer, and then got the regular local pitches which have been great and we would rather do, but we've got to do both side by side for now, which has left us with not many days where we don't have some work to do... I'm not too worried about the winter now as I think the local stuff will still go strong and we just won't bother with all the events we did last year that made no money, but we'll still try and put some money aside just in case.

ddickinson: Well at least you got some sleep, it's just a shame it was at your computer again.

How about a keyboard bed? :-)

My day has been good, the morning was very busy, but not so bad in the afternoon. Tomorrow and the next day will be a lot more strenuous, but nothing too bad. Hopefully I won't tire myself out before my nice weekend away. My partner came to keep me company at work this evening, so the extra few hours I was working passed quite nicely, so that was good.
It happens a lot. No big thing there.

That's an interesting looking bed, but it'd cut into my game budget. -laughs-

It's good that the time passed well, at least. Will keep hoping that you get plenty of rest at night to make up for the workload so you're not wiped out during your downtime.
Right, should probably head to bed.

Nice talking to you all, see you tomorrow! :)

Night.

Good evening. =)

Errands....yay.

Glad to hear your day's been all right. Sounds a lot like mine, only with more sleep on your end.
Well I am going to call it a night, these long days are tiring me out a little. Hopefully tonight I can actually get some sleep and not end up with some horrible memories coming back to me in my sleep and keeping me awake.

Take care, everyone, and have a good evening!

*goodnight hugs and waves*

I am glad you are taking it easy and not doing too much while you have a bad knee. Is the ice still helping with the discomfort?

Sleeping actually sounds like a very good idea. :-)

You are probably making a smart choice by picking something a little cut down from the original. Maybe if you aim for less complex games to start with, you will be able to get more experience and maybe even publish a few of the smaller games. This could help you in the long run of publishing your dream game.

Maybe a year of hard work this year will allow you to have more holidays next year. I am sure in the end all your hard work will be worth while and you will find a good balance between work and your personal life, something which is always hard when you work for yourself. Hopefully your local events will be viable for you during the winter months.

I think the picture is actually a sofa bed, but I am not sure it looks that comfy.

Thank you for the kind words and all your concern, you are very sweet, and I certainly appreciate it. I will be fine, hopefully I can get a full nights sleep tonight and I should be fine.

Yeah, nice day. Chilly and windy outside so sleep seemed like a good choice. ;)
