CarrionCrow: -laughs- You sound so much like me with that statement. I play games windowed with Firefox open so I can still keep an eye on things.
Also, I've got a scenario for you, if you have a moment - Summer's coming, and summer is always brutal around here. 100+ degrees Fahrenheit for weeks at a time.
Problem is, the space I have is short on cooling with all the tech loaded up, so there's really no AC in here.
Combine that with the computer stuff, and it ends up being maybe 100 to 105 degrees in here every day aside from a few hours in the middle of the night.
That leads into my dilemma - I'm thinking of grabbing a New 3DS. Other parts of the house do have AC, they're comfortable. With the handheld, I could make use of it and not fry for 3-4 months.
But, the Summer sale is coming. If I don't take advantage of that, I don't get another chance for 6 months.
I don't want to be annoyed for half a year over a sale I didn't pillage like crazy.
Which way would you go?
That's pretty much me too, except with Chrome XD
Seems to work most of the time, but some games seem determined to turn my laptop into a frying pan...
That really depends... I would highly recommend a 3DS, and the New 3DS certainly looks like the way to go, if for nothing other than the Xenoblade remake. But it's an expensive hobby, much more so than PC gaming. And I know your wishlist drives you crazy, so having another one with DS and 3DS games you want and less money to spend on either might annoy you.
So it depends whether the comfort of being able to game in the cool air conditioned room would out weigh the extra annoyance of wishlist stuff.

toxicTom: I couldn't play this way. When I play the game I want to really sink in, not think about other things. Hard enough to do it with all the real life stuff happening around me.
But I also know people who play games and have the TV on
and (non-game) music as well... and probably they are "what's-apping" at the same time too.
*Raises hand*
I'm one of those people... I always used to game with music on, these days the TV is always on in the background (but not anything I'm actually watching).
