moonshineshadow: *welcome hug* Things could be better here, how about you?
Sorry to hear that, I hope your day will improve. :( I'm doing pretty good, just had my final session with my physical therapist. My neck injuries haven't fully healed, but I'm well on the road to recovery and should be able to go the rest of the way on my own.

CarrionCrow: Good morning. =)

This kinda says it all for the moment.

How's your day going?
That's kinda scary! :P I'm doing pretty good, thanks. :)

CarrionCrow: One's been sick with a nasty flu bug, and the other was pulling long hours with a damaged arm.

It would seem so. Stopped watching them nonstop a while back, but I guess some of it sank in.

Jwan4321: Ah sorry, got side tracked in another tab.

You know how scurvy is a result of a lack of Vitamin C? A lot of illnesses can perpetuate due to a lack of Zinc. It is one of the building blocks for our immune system. Green leafy veggies, like broccoli, spinach, green peas, sun tomatoes, lemon grass and shitake mushrooms, or fruits like apricots and peaches, prunes (dried plums) avocado and bananas all have zinc. It might not make them get better any quicker, but it doesn't hurt.

That anti-flu stuff they have at the market, thera-flu, or airborne, its basically a bunch of Vitamin C (because everyone thinks Vitamin C has something to do with colds and flu, nope) zinc and iron, and a few other things mixed in. Basically, what most people lack in their diets from eating all over processed, sodium packed, high fructose corn syrup filled sodas, and vending machine junk food.

However, too much zinc can destroy the bodies levels of Vitamin A, which can lead to blindness and heart failure. But you'd basically have to eat like nothing but zinc laden veggies for like, a week or something. Or take too many multivitamin tablets.
It's okay.

I'm of two minds regarding that information.
On the one hand, I thank you for sharing it, and will keep it in mind whenever someone around here is sick.
And on the other hand, I now kinda want to pummel my roommate with a bunch of raw broccoli while screaming at them, "THIS WILL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER!!!!!".

I need to work on how to reconcile those two trains of thought...

Glad to hear it. =) Also, it's much scarier when someone's singing it and can't stop laughing every few seconds.

Do it! <- Pretend I spammed that a few dozen times, in varying sizes of fonts, sizes and levels of accents (bold/italics).

moonshineshadow: The answer today is not the usual "ok", but you won't like the answer ;-)
*hug*
On a serious note, work is stressful and I am not completely fit. So yeah. Could be better.
Aaaaw :-( ... finally I'll take the "ok" !!!
Joking aside, I'm sorry about it...I hope it'll be better soon... hopefully you'll be able to take some needed rest during Easter Monday ?...

I'll wait until they're asleep, hit them in the head with broccoli after dousing it in ranch, then when they blearily put their hand to their head and it comes back covered in dressing, but before they're awake enough to comprehend what's happening, I'll start screaming about how we have to get to the hospital because the cyst ruptured.

LaPtiteBete: Hey hello DD !!!
**Big still-morning-for-a-few-minutes hug**
Glad your head is getting better...!
Really nice dress... I also think black is high-class and a bit less "eye-catching", yes... (assuming you don't wan't to draw all the attention !) :-)
*Still morning here for another 35 minutes hug*

I definitely do not want to draw all the attention (or any at all, I just want to enjoy the evening with my partner), I will gladly let someone else do that, which I am sure they will. The last time I went to one of these things everyone was dressed so elegantly, with dressed that are very expensive.

I will stick with black, as it looks nice, it can be used for other events, and I already have black stocking etc. to wear underneath, so no need to go out and buy some red ones. :-)

avatar
FearfulSymmetry: Hey everyone, how are you all doing today? :)
*hello hug*

I am doing good, thank you. I am glad to hear your neck injuries are recovering. Fingers crossed it won't be too long before you are good as new.

CarrionCrow: Um...none of what I mentioned is withdrawal-related...-laughing hard-

Of course, you want it to match well with hers, get the full coordination effect.

Your doctor continues to be an idiot. Fingers crossed that your head stops hurting soon.

You never know, that review could have the opposite effect, instead drawing swarms of militant pigeon game defenders who buy more just to spite me. -laughs-
Not withdrawal related? So what is causing it? (sorry if you mentioned earlier, I only briefly skimmed the thread.)

We sometimes wear different colour dresses, just to be a little different. But for posher events we try to look a bit more coordinated. To be honest, I don't mind what I wear, as long as no one makes a scene and I can enjoy the evening with my partner, then I will be happy.

Thank you, my head will be fine, just a little sensitive to the light today.

You might be right about the review. It could also be some reverse psychology. People would buy the game to see for themselves how bad it is. :-)

IF they are out of it enough, you might just be able to convince them that all people are secretly filled with salad dressing, and you are just surprised that they are a ranch dressing person, as most of the people you know are either French dressing, Italian dressing, or a Vinaigrette.

This is taking me back to that quick recipes thread from a day ago, someone suggested ranch dressing on rice. Adding steamed broccoli doesn't sound bad. Do you think your roommate can donate a pint or two for my future meal plans?

Hey! I see you're getting a fancy dress? :P Awesome!

Yeah, my therapist has told me it will probably never completely heal/will always remain a weak spot, but as long as I can move it well enough and I don't have too much pain I'm satisfied. It has already improved a lot compared to when I started out. :)

AgentBirdnest: Glad you are fine... and that the owlet is relatively fine... I hope all goes well for you both, and she gets better quickly.
You see Asaf Avidan tomorrow? That dude is sexy!! XD ... My friend introduced me to some of his music recently, and I really enjoyed it. You are so lucky!! :-)
I must admit he's pretty sexy, yeah... n__n
Yes, he'll play in Lille... only 10 minutes from home \o/ which is awesome (I sometimes must drive for hours to see some concerts)... Ho really ? What are your favorite tracks ? :)

Feels like a manic episode plus a lot of caffeine at the moment. (Don't worry, I didn't mention it previously, and it'd be okay if I did. Won't ever virtual flog you or something for missing me babbling about silly shit.)

Sounds like your priorities are in the right place. Let the snobby assholes worry about trying to one-up each other so they have a reason to not overdose on their antidepressants after the party's over in a moment of clarity about how fundamentally worthless their existences are. =)

You're welcome. That's good, just bullshit that you're having to deal with it at all.

Sure it would. A lot of people are really easy to manipulate.
"This game sucks."
"NUH UH SHUT UP THIS GAME IS FANTASTIC!!!! I'M GONNA BUY IT FOR EVERYONE NOW!!!"
"Of course you will. Don't mind that odd feeling, that's just me working you like a puppet with my fist up your ass."

It's okay. Just me laughing about the reviews that are there compared to mine, along with knowing there's no way in hell someone from GOG would let mine be on the sales page. No way in hell.

I don't mean to pry, so I wont ask what you are taking. But I highly recommend looking into the adverse effects of any anti-headache or anti-pain meds you are taking, and look up drug sensitivity.

Tylenol, Aspirin, and Midol - (a very common anti-pain/inflammation which many women use for period pain relief and head aches) actually can cause headaches in people with a sensitivity to those types of drugs (like .25-.40% of the population). It can be really hard to diagnose, and a lot of times, is not included on any of the labels. "Take this to get rid of your head ache and migraine!! Side effects include head aches! Migraines! Intense stomach cramps and throwing up!" Not the best sales pitch.

Edit, forgot the decimal places, that is .25 to .40 % not 25.00 to 40.00 %

Thank you. I do not get to dress up in fancy dresses too often, so I am looking forward to it.

Sadly major injuries never fully heal, a bit like when you break a bone, it will heal, but it will never be 100%. Hopefully you will heal nicely, and you will have no pain and can get back to normal.

I'd probably have to get them tanked up on Nyquil for that one to work. Worth a try if they start hitting the green stuff, though.
It's fun what can happen. Once started mindwiping (brainwashing?) a relative into thinking they were a person called Uncle Pete.
They were not my uncle and their name was not Pete.
Given enough time, I could've probably imprinted a whole new personality, all new memories (well, as much as they were going to stick at all...kinda like keeping a poster on the wall when the tape stops being sticky), the whole nine.
Fucking asshole relatives got pissy and made me stop, though.
To this day, I think Uncle Pete would've been quite happy with their new identity.
