Agree with you there, doing stuff like that and frying it properly makes all the difference.
You can put it all in an oven, but it doesn't come out the same at all. The flavor's not as good, the texture and color's not right.
Yeah, it's never easy finding someone in anything medical-related, whether it's for humans or animals.
Thankfully there's a great vet office in town. With dentists, I don't mind so much that the nearest one's an hour away.
Push comes to shove, you can scream like a lunatic going down the road to take your mind off your face rotting, but you don't want to put an animal through that kind of shit if they're hurting.
Some things work in the oven, and we've got a method for making half decent chips / wedges in the oven, but battered fish has to be deep fried. And if you're going to fry the fish, you might as well fry the chips :)
I'd say I'm a little more fussy than that... I don't really have much trust for doctors (well, anyone) so I like them to know (or seem to know) what they're talking about.
The main thing I look for in a dentist is that they speak English well enough for me to understand. I went to an emergency dentist once who barely spoke a word of English and it really didn't give me confidence that I didn't understand what he was telling me about why I was in agony... Current dentist is a very nice Bulgarian lady who speaks great English and is also a pretty good dentist too, which is a nice bonus :)
