CarrionCrow: Hmm. I didn't know pollen was a totally identical word in German. Yay for actually learning stuff.
EndreWhiteMane: Must be another word we stole. ;) Hi Crow. Hey there. =) How's it going?

toxicTom: Seconded!
Look at those 140y+ Japanese people. The eat rice (carbohydrates) and fish (not as low fat as most people think). And algea and stuff...
No I think our (exclusive we, DD ;-)) unhealthy lifestyle stems from lack of workout and fresh air (office slaves) and bad food at lunch break that is saturated with appetisers and artificial flavour enhancers (that are declared as "natural", like yeast extract).
But sadly what choice do many people have these days? Most jobs these days are sedentary, our cultures encourages us to live a sedentary lifestyle, and sadly fresh and healthy food is not readily available, which has caused many big stores to over-charge for the food that is fresh, due to high demand. I think if given the choice, most people would pick the fresh food, but they simply do not always have that choice, especially as you enter more urban areas.Look at those 140y+ Japanese people. CarrionCrow: -laughs- In all probability. If it's a word that's identical in a far older country? Odds are this culture swiped it.
Hey there. =) How's it going?
Going OK, worrying too much about stuff, time to relax for a while. Hey there. =) How's it going?
I'm about 1/3 of the way through the "S"s in my download project so doing well there.

CarrionCrow: Good news all the way around then, particularly with the sleep getting back to normal.
I can imagine how much not fun at all it was working on a farm all day on an hour's sleep, if that.
Not fun, and sometimes a little dangerous. Lots of machinery and physical work on a farm, most of which is not recommended when tired. But things are on the up, hopefully by the time summer gets here things will be fine with family and work, and I can enjoy the lovely weather and fun times with my partner. I can imagine how much not fun at all it was working on a farm all day on an hour's sleep, if that.
Do you have anything fun planned for the evening?
I sleep for about 4-5 hours a night. But I know most people can't get by on that amount of sleep. I hope you have a restful night and are not too tired in the morning.
Goodnight, sleep well!

Would say you're absolutely right, because I remember the person saying the demand was high, the problem was affordability and lack of availability of quality items for a lot of people.

There is a very simple way to test if American stole a word. Just look how it is spelt. If it has been butchered and had letter removed or mixed up, then you stole it, if not, then you are just borrowing it. :-)

Yeah, sounds like it's rolling along steadily. Think when I looked, you have something like 67 S's.
Muttered "Holy shit, that's gonna take a while." when I saw it, but it's flowing along decently, so that's good.

True, but it's not that simple. I actually often witness objectively poor people buying crap convenience food that is actually a lot more expensive that buying the raw materials. People have "unlearned" to cook, to prepare a proper meal. They buy "instant" stuff that is oversaturated with artificial "homogenous" taste that takes out all the fun of cooking (spicing things up) and still leaves them with all the tedious work (peeling/cutting/slicing the carrots). It's just dumb and sad...ddickinson

CarrionCrow: You're reminding me of a news story I saw a while back about a guy who's started setting up vending machines that contain salads that his employees prepare every day from ingredients that he gets from nearby farmer's markets.

That's what I meant about demand and local supply. Many places now have too little farmland to grow enough food for the population, so they import it from poorer nations for a cheap price. But as your example shows, people are starting to learn to eat healthier if they can, and even making some little changes makes a world of difference.Would say you're absolutely right, because I remember the person saying the demand was high, the problem was affordability and lack of availability of quality items for a lot of people.
