Vidya. Dark Crusade and Soulstorm.

CarrionCrow: I'm sure we can work something out. -laughs-

Additional - Okay, the sun's coming up soon. Need sleep.
Have a good day, everyone. =)

adaliabooks: Excellent.... ;)

Going to bed when the sun comes up? Are you secretly a vampire Crow? Perhaps the one from Discworld that's addicted to coffee instead of blood? ;)
Partial vampire. Full vampires burst into flames when they're in sunlight. Partials tend to get bad headaches, start sneezing and get really, really bitchy because they just want a nap.

Hey there! :D How are you?

So you have fallen to the dark powers of the Warp? Why else would you torture yourself with Soulstorm? Did you learn nothing from the suffering Crow went through with that game. :-)

I love the first Down of War games (I never played the second series of games due to DRM), but Dark Crusade was a bit too dull for me. Just skirmish maps really with very little storyline, which is a shame, as there is so much lore and back story in 40K. And from what Crow said, Soulstorm is even worse. My favourite levels on Dark Crusade were the main base missions for each race where you defeated them. The levels were more fun and there was a bit of storyline to the missions. The levels which were like traditional RTS single player levels, not lazy skirmish levels.

penumbren: *sigh* On hold with Greyhound... almost 10 minutes already. Hopefully this is not a sign of how this call will go!

Last Friday, our roommate was supposed to catch a bus from California back to Billings, Montana, where he's going to stay for a while to work some things out. The bus was supposed to leave at 8:05 p.m. It showed up at the station at 9:30 p.m. The driver got out, allowed one person on, stated that she had no more seats, made a few phone calls, then told us the bus was full and anyone waiting for the next stop on the route needed to catch the one at six in the morning and to call the customer service number on the ticket. When I pointed out that the c/s number wasn't open until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, she repeated herself, closed the bus doors, and drove off.

.... that actually ticked me off all over again just writing it out.

When we got back, I finally call the website support, as all of the regular numbers were closed. They gave me numbers to the local stations, which were supposed to be open... neither of them answered at any of the five numbers I called.

Oh, hey. I just got told by a rep that I have to go to the local Greyhound station to deal with a ticket exchange because they can't do it over the phone. If I want a refund, I can mail it in... that's efficient. So now I'm waiting for her to see if a supervisor is available because I just very calmly asked for one. I'm pretty sure that they won't help either, but I am so absolutely livid over this entire situation that I can't even express how angry I am. I'm also pretty sure that I'm going to get to go down to the local station, which wouldn't be so bad except that it doesn't open for two more hours and I'll get to deal with Monday morning traffic at that point. It's less than ten miles away, but it took us almost 20 minutes to make that drive at 10:00 p.m. Friday.

*deep breaths*

I am trying so hard to be calm on the phone because yelling will not accomplish anything.

I just have to keep telling myself that.

>.<
That sounds about their speed. They're all about first come, first served, and they have no problem whatsoever with overselling tickets and screwing people over.

I would say to avoid yelling, not because they don't deserve it (because dear gods they do), but because they'll probably use it as an excuse to hang up on you and never resolve your problem.

I love playing soulstorm with mods! :D hundreds of imperial guardsmen, holding the line until 3 Baneblades arrive and cut through the orkish lines! :D
Yeah finally at home.
While work was ok in the morning in the afternoon I told my boss he had made a mistake about a formula and that it should be like that. Turned out he was wrong, but I was also wrong. So yeah to me for making my boss and myself look stupid -.-

It does seem silly of the designers to limit the number of troops so much, but I guess that is what they were going for, even if the A.I. cheats and has way more troops than the population cap would allow. :-)

It's like rubbing up against a full body cheese grater.

It might not bother you in the very beginning, but the longer you do it, the more meat and blood it'll eventually take out of you.

I did all 9 runs over the course of 175 hours. If you feel you must play it? Take your favorite group, get to the Sisters' base, kill them all, get the forward base ability, use that to secure your base planet as soon as possible to cut down on garbage defense fights, buzz through it and call it done.
