CarrionCrow: I'm sure we can work something out. -laughs-

Additional - Okay, the sun's coming up soon. Need sleep.
Have a good day, everyone. =)
Excellent.... ;)

Going to bed when the sun comes up? Are you secretly a vampire Crow? Perhaps the one from Discworld that's addicted to coffee instead of blood? ;)

LaPtiteBete: Good morning, Moon !! **Warm and happy morning Hug** How are you doing ? (I bet for a "ok" ! ;-p)

moonshineshadow: *extra big return hug* I am ok :-) How did you know that? :P
By the way, thanks to dd I found the perfect game for practising taking over the world, you should play it if you want to go on with your world domination plan :D

LaPtiteBete: Good morning Zenwan **Hugs of waves ?** ; I didn't know we could lose games... :-| ... that's really embarrassing !...
avatar
moonshineshadow: No one is loosing games. Fallout 1 has a bug, where it is disappearing for a few minutes to a few hours before it is back again. Of course sometimes the library view acts up and things, but I know of no one whose games really have disappeared forever and since I read the forums a lot, I surely would have noticed a thread about games disappearing for real ;-) So no need to worry.
Thanks, Moon, that's good to know. I stumbled across a thread where they said that Fallout would no longer be available at GOG, although those who had bought it already would be covered, and another that spoke of additional content being removed. I thought it would be safer if all the games I owned had at least been downloaded, as I was not sure what would happen if one tried to install a game to a different computer after it had been removed from the GOG catalogue. I'm copying all my downloads onto a large external hard drive, to keep them safe.

Also hi to LaPtiteBete, Tom, DDickinson, Agent, PaliodeMonte, Adaliabooks, l0rdtr3k, ElTerprise, and anyone else I may have missed, sorry! It's really hard playing catchup when you are busy doing other stuff. But I wouldn't want to be rude. :-)

Trying again - without success - to edit this so that my own txt doesn't show up in italics. Grrrr

I only noticed it when I came back to check on my downloads.

Good luck for your work !!
Thanks :)

Honestly, it's partially OCD... I don't feel comfortable not reading everything so I only don't when I really don't feel up to it.

The additional content does occasionally get removed, but I saw a post by a blue in one of the threads saying that it should no longer get removed from those who have already bought games (apparently when it had happened in the past it was a bug rather than by design)

I can certainly understand wanting to keep a back up of everything, I've got most of my installers on my computer, but it's getting to the point where I won't have enough room for all of them. Once I've got some money spare I'll get a nice 1TB or bigger external HD and back up all my installers (along with all my other downloads and installers that take up a huge chunk of my hard drive)

Don't worry to much about missing people, most of us are popping in out of the thread all day ;)

As long as you got the games before they were removed from the catalogue, they'll still be in your account and you can download them as often as you want and install them on all your computers :-)
Regarding the extras, yes some have been removed. But the the main support guy from gog posted last week, that this was due to a technical restraint and that they fixed it and it would not happen again (so lets hope it is true) :D
If course having a backup never hurts, just in case for example your internet is not working :D

It does... hence why I prefer you all to stop talking when I'm asleep or at work ;)
*sigh* On hold with Greyhound... almost 10 minutes already. Hopefully this is not a sign of how this call will go!

Last Friday, our roommate was supposed to catch a bus from California back to Billings, Montana, where he's going to stay for a while to work some things out. The bus was supposed to leave at 8:05 p.m. It showed up at the station at 9:30 p.m. The driver got out, allowed one person on, stated that she had no more seats, made a few phone calls, then told us the bus was full and anyone waiting for the next stop on the route needed to catch the one at six in the morning and to call the customer service number on the ticket. When I pointed out that the c/s number wasn't open until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning, she repeated herself, closed the bus doors, and drove off.

.... that actually ticked me off all over again just writing it out.

When we got back, I finally call the website support, as all of the regular numbers were closed. They gave me numbers to the local stations, which were supposed to be open... neither of them answered at any of the five numbers I called.

Oh, hey. I just got told by a rep that I have to go to the local Greyhound station to deal with a ticket exchange because they can't do it over the phone. If I want a refund, I can mail it in... that's efficient. So now I'm waiting for her to see if a supervisor is available because I just very calmly asked for one. I'm pretty sure that they won't help either, but I am so absolutely livid over this entire situation that I can't even express how angry I am. I'm also pretty sure that I'm going to get to go down to the local station, which wouldn't be so bad except that it doesn't open for two more hours and I'll get to deal with Monday morning traffic at that point. It's less than ten miles away, but it took us almost 20 minutes to make that drive at 10:00 p.m. Friday.

*deep breaths*

I am trying so hard to be calm on the phone because yelling will not accomplish anything.

I just have to keep telling myself that.

Thanks, guys. I'm actually not even angry right this moment, just incredibly stressed; the roommate bought the ticket almost three weeks ago with basically the last of his last paycheck, because he's moving (for a non-permanent but indeterminate length of time), so he doesn't have money to screw around with another ticket, and neither do I. I'm mainly worried that they're going to try to tell me that we have to pay the difference in price or that they can't change it at all - if either of those come up as their decision, I will throw the biggest, bitchiest, screamingest hissy fit they've ever seen. This entire situation is on their company, not on us as customers.

Among other things, I am absolutely going to complain about that particular bus driver. The attitude was appalling, especially when there were several people she just completely ignored - she only answered me because I basically yelled my question/comment up at her while she was sitting in the driver's seat with the doors open. Not even a "Sorry I'm late, there was bad traffic/accident on the freeway/SOMETHING" as an explanation for the crazy lateness.

At this point, I've been on hold waiting for a supervisor for almost 15 minutes. Yay. (The operator just checked in with me for the second time and sounded sooooo overjoyed to find out I was still here. *snort*) I guess on the up side, I probably won't have to worry about accidentally falling asleep before the local station opens. (I haven't had any sleep tonight/last night now... yay insomnia!)

ETA: Yay. I just spent 20 minutes or so ranting (very politely, because I was forcing myself to be) at the supervisor, who apologized a number of times, reassured me about getting the ticket switched, and started the complaint process for me. The other thing, in case anyone actually reads this far (*g*) that had me frustrated beyond all belief, was the lack of support when it happened: The local office was closed, the two other 'local' offices (both an hour or two away via car) didn't answer any of their line, customer support was closed - but the website support was open! I expressed my deep unhappiness with the fact that they're willing to take my money 24/7 but not offer any help when things go wrong outside of business hours. (Which is typical, but it's a little different for a travel-based company than, say, Amazon.com.)

So. In an hour, I get to call the local office before heading down there (if I can avoid morning rush hour traffic in southern California, you bet I will), and then drive down to do a switch... and then (very hopefully) drive down again to drop off the roommate tonight for the trip. Although I think I'll be waiting with him again - thank god I did Friday night. >.<

For now... I have an hour to nap in.

Morning all, doing OK here.
Glad most of you/yours are doing well today but sorry for those having to suffer life's crappy stuff on a Monday.

Are the Final Fantasy fans drooling over Gurumin at a mere $8.99?
A 2015 game that will play on an 800Mhz P3? They could teach a lot of developers things. ;)
Edit: Guess the original release was 2004, GOG seems to now be using meaningless release dates. :/

Good morning, Endre! *big morning hug*

Glad to hear you are doing okay.

I was wondering what you were talking about at first, then I remembered that GOG occasionally adds new games on here and I looked at the front page. :-)

Edit: It's nice to see a game added that is optimised and does not require unreasonably high system requirements.
