j0ekerr: Hello DD.

Just chillin' and nurglin' around.

Oh, and killing spiders that dared to crawl accross my keyboard.
Hello, j0ekerr, killer of spiders! :-)

Why are you killing the spiders? Could you not just ignore them or pick them up and put them outside?

moonshineshadow: Oh I already complained a lot about that here this afternoon :D The stupid devs did not implement any rest function in the game. So there is no choice to save and reload often to try minimizing the damage you take. And you often need breaks to regenerate, since health and mana reg is very slow.

*more hugs*
I see, sorry, I have not read what I have missed yet. That sounds like it can really interrupt the enjoyment with the game. But at least you can get some reading done or some house work while you are waiting. Is the game still fun despite this problem?

*more big hugs*

moonshineshadow: Also, what happened to your wikipage?
I've switched to Linux for a while after some hassles with Windows, and the scripts which the Wiki page relies on to sync to my lists and keep them updated are a potential security risk according to those who know a lot more about the subject than I do, so I'm erring on the side of caution for the time being.

I'll investigate Loom a bit more deeply and see if it appeals - something I really like about being here is learning about games I maybe wouldn't choose to buy from people who have played them ;-)

I'm also glad you nagged me endlessly about my avatar change (I'm joking!) because its nice to see the original me back again. I can't imagine what came over me...

ddickinson: Good evening, everyone!

How are you all today? I hope you have had an enjoyable weekend so far?

Nah don't worry. The forced breaks annoyed me enough that I am happy to complain about them more :P
But yes the game is fun :-)

adaliabooks: Yeah, it was great.

Sounds like you've had a very nice time, glad you managed to get some sleep :)

You can say that again.. I didn't realise the whole thing was driven by some nutjobs who wanted to portray him as a kind and goodly king (which fair enough might have been the case, it's hard to know). The woman who ran the dig seemed more like some kind of weird groupie than a historian...
But the fact they were able to find and identify him is pretty cool.
I agree it was impressive how they found him, but the whole handling of it was appalling. The Labour government who granted them permission to look should have never given the University control of the body. He is a King, and should have been buried where he wished, or at least alongside previous monarchs. Not in a gimmicky tomb to bring in temporary tourism for a bunch of idiots at a University desperate for recognition.

As for his character as a King or human being, remember that much of the history we have about him comes from the Tudors, his enemies. I'm not saying he was a saint, or that he was not the monster some say he was, but with things like this, you have to take things with a pinch of salt. History, as always, is written by the victors, and the Tudors would have used this opportunity to disgrace their enemy and blame him for actions the Tudors could have done (such as the Tudors allegedly being behind killing Edward V and Prince Richard, Duke of York. Again, no proof, just lots of theories.)

Oh ok, that is too bad about the wikipage. But if it is a security risk it is better to avoid trouble :-)

And no need to thank me, I had much fun nagging you about the avatar. Good to see your old self again :P *big hug*

Well as long as you are enjoying it then that's all that matters. Once I have given Legend of Grimrock a try I might look at getting Anvil of Dawn. But for now I want to wait to see how much I enjoy Legend of Grimrock before I get another game with a similar style.

If you enjoy Legend of Grimrock, you should consider playing Legend of Grimrock 2 next or Lands of Lore (first one). While Anvil of Dawn is nice the other games are much better.
It was boring. But I managed to build a nice little house in Minecraft and in EUTS2,I'm almost buying my first truck.
Other than that it was the same old weeked I always have.

I played a bit of Legend of Grimrock a while ago and I liked it, but I have yet to give it a proper play. I am sure I will like it, as I liked the part I played. Owl was so awesome and gifted me Legend of Grimrock 2, so I will be able to play both.

The first Grimrock is pretty good. I'm liking it so far.
Can't play the second one due to high system req. I heard good things about Anvil of Dawn and Lands of Lore. You should try Stonekeep,if you handle the horrible voice acting and FMV.

That sounds nice. I have never played Minecraft or Truck Simulator, but I know many people love them. Are you enjoying the Truck Simulator game?

Not being much of a Monarchist (as in the sooner all traces of royalty are removed from modern government the better) I'm not too bothered how they deal with the burial so much, but if there is an actual record of where he wished to be buried it would make sense to put him there...

I agree it's hard to know what is fact and what is fiction made up by his enemies but it was more the people's attitudes than their beliefs about him. When they were asking them about whether they thought he had killed his nephews they responded as if they personally knew him and what he was like.. when the woman in charge was told he was actually a hunchback she was devastated (can't say I wasn't a little bit pleased to see the self righteous smirk wiped off her face though...)
But it was the little stuff like being able to confirm the accounts of his death with the wounds on the body or being able to reconstruct his face and see he did look quite like his pictures.

The moonshine was so bright (make that persistent) that I had no choice but to see the light! I think most will be pleased - its funny and rather charming how we recognize each other by those little person-substitute pictures. Although mine may be the exception as I actually look like that...

Well mine is meant to be me... so I do look quite a bit like that..
Not quite so pixellated obviously ;)
And my hair is a darker colour.
