moonshineshadow: No real plan here. There will be the normal cleaning stuff and then probably playing a bit more Anvil of Dawn and reading :D
That doesn't sound too bad. I have finally started to get into my reading more again, so I am keen to start reading new books, not just ones I have already read. Which means I will soon be reading the lovely book you recommended to me. Then I have to read The Witcher book that toxicTom made me buy. :-)
*random big hug*
CarrionCrow: Yes, I would if the ground wouldn't kill everything like I said.
Also, you're not missing much. I've heard some people talk about the "stark beauty" of the desert.
Problem is, they're all astonishingly full of shit. Or drunk. Or brain damaged.
It's godsdamned sand, hardpan and weeds. How frigging scenic. And during the summer there are swarms of bugs to boot.
You could nuke this place and after the radiation died down, it'd actually be an improvement.
Ugh...okay, I'm normally all for rain and large storms, but even those need to piss off if they're going to put your livelihood at risk.
I can say that I was pleased with what I saw of Outlast so far. If I didn't have next to zero attention span at times, I'd be further into it. Got distracted by something else, though.
And yes, you won't be seeing spoilers for any game from me. Some people go by the non-logic of "well it's been X amount of time, so if you didn't play it, too bad". Total crap.
That's a shame. I would hate not to be able to grow things. It can't be nice living in a desert during summer, or strong winds. I imagine that sand storms can be quite destructive and annoying to clean up..
There is so much that can cause problems on a farm. One of the biggest is the weather, but there is also parasites, pests, diseases that effect animals or crops, humans, and probably other stuff as well. The nice thing is the comradeship between farmers. If one farm is struggling, the others will usually be more than happy to help. I don't know if that's how it is everywhere, but in my little corner of England it's quite common for us all to help each other out.
AgentBirdnest: We're just friends, I swear! I've never touched her forums!
Morning, DD :-) *Big return hug*
Doing pretty well here. Just relaxing, listening to
Ben Folds Five, and trying to gather enough energy to make a charge toward the kitchen to eat something...
But you have touched her games, just not the forum? That's like saying you have slept with her but you didn't kiss. :-)
(Only joking, I have no problem with people using Steam.)
Good morning, Agent! *bigger return hug*
Try not to shut down GOG this time. Just get the food and come back, no need to switch us off just to get a sandwich. :-)
Did you have pizza last night? Fridays are you pizza night, after all.
moonshineshadow: Yeah is is always a bit annoying if people tell you the story of books or games before you have read/played them. So I try to never post anything about that while talking about games. Not that I could have posted a spoiler about Outcast ;-)
I never thought about people spoiling things when I mentioned the game. I guess I just assumed that the lovely people here would not do something so mean and reveal anything about the game, at least not without a spoiler warning.
adaliabooks: Just popping in to reply to this before I get on with the last of the prep.
Weather's actually quite nice here, has been for a few days. So hopefully it will hold until the evening. Lot's of people talking on Facebook so I'm fairly sure we will do well tonight.
Probably be back on for a bit later before we go, if not see you all tonight!
Don't have too much fun without me ;)
Good luck! I hope you have a very successful day!
