ddickinson: Fingers crossed you have another good day at work. How is the weather where you are? Here it is very windy, windy enough to stop me working on the greenhouses. Hopefully the weather will be fine for you and you will have lots of customers fighting over some good pizza.
avatar
adaliabooks: Just popping in to reply to this before I get on with the last of the prep.

Weather's actually quite nice here, has been for a few days. So hopefully it will hold until the evening. Lot's of people talking on Facebook so I'm fairly sure we will do well tonight.

Probably be back on for a bit later before we go, if not see you all tonight!
Don't have too much fun without me ;)
Fingers crossed for a profitable evening. Talk with you later on. =)

moonshineshadow: No real plan here. There will be the normal cleaning stuff and then probably playing a bit more Anvil of Dawn and reading :D
That doesn't sound too bad. I have finally started to get into my reading more again, so I am keen to start reading new books, not just ones I have already read. Which means I will soon be reading the lovely book you recommended to me. Then I have to read The Witcher book that toxicTom made me buy. :-)

*random big hug*

CarrionCrow: Yes, I would if the ground wouldn't kill everything like I said.

Also, you're not missing much. I've heard some people talk about the "stark beauty" of the desert.
Problem is, they're all astonishingly full of shit. Or drunk. Or brain damaged.
It's godsdamned sand, hardpan and weeds. How frigging scenic. And during the summer there are swarms of bugs to boot.
You could nuke this place and after the radiation died down, it'd actually be an improvement.

Ugh...okay, I'm normally all for rain and large storms, but even those need to piss off if they're going to put your livelihood at risk.

I can say that I was pleased with what I saw of Outlast so far. If I didn't have next to zero attention span at times, I'd be further into it. Got distracted by something else, though.
And yes, you won't be seeing spoilers for any game from me. Some people go by the non-logic of "well it's been X amount of time, so if you didn't play it, too bad". Total crap.
That's a shame. I would hate not to be able to grow things. It can't be nice living in a desert during summer, or strong winds. I imagine that sand storms can be quite destructive and annoying to clean up..

There is so much that can cause problems on a farm. One of the biggest is the weather, but there is also parasites, pests, diseases that effect animals or crops, humans, and probably other stuff as well. The nice thing is the comradeship between farmers. If one farm is struggling, the others will usually be more than happy to help. I don't know if that's how it is everywhere, but in my little corner of England it's quite common for us all to help each other out.

AgentBirdnest: We're just friends, I swear! I've never touched her forums!

Morning, DD :-) *Big return hug*

Doing pretty well here. Just relaxing, listening to Ben Folds Five, and trying to gather enough energy to make a charge toward the kitchen to eat something...
But you have touched her games, just not the forum? That's like saying you have slept with her but you didn't kiss. :-)
(Only joking, I have no problem with people using Steam.)

Good morning, Agent! *bigger return hug*

Try not to shut down GOG this time. Just get the food and come back, no need to switch us off just to get a sandwich. :-)

Did you have pizza last night? Fridays are you pizza night, after all.

avatar
moonshineshadow: Yeah is is always a bit annoying if people tell you the story of books or games before you have read/played them. So I try to never post anything about that while talking about games. Not that I could have posted a spoiler about Outcast ;-)
I never thought about people spoiling things when I mentioned the game. I guess I just assumed that the lovely people here would not do something so mean and reveal anything about the game, at least not without a spoiler warning.

AgentBirdnest: Good mevening, everyone. Hope things are going okay, and all that stuff...

Regarding rentals... There are some DRM-free games on the competition, aren't there? VVVVVV and Lume jump to my mind first as games that you can download, then uninstall the client, and move to any computer you would like...

ddickinson: Are you cheating on us? Don't tell me you have been seeing that Steam lady behind GOG's back? :-)

Good morning, Agent! *big hug*

How are you today?

avatar
moonshineshadow: *good morning hugs and waves* I hope everyone is having a good day :-)

CarrionCrow: Good morning. =)

Just loaded up on coffee to go with a ridiculously fast speed game in between talking with people here.
I've had a lot worse mornings...

Hopefully your day is a vast improvement from the shittiness of yesterday. (Also, shut it spellchecker, shittiness is totally a real word)

Soccorro: Morning! :)

CarrionCrow: Good morning. =)

How's the start to your weekend going?
Everything's fine. Gotta have a look on Heart diseases and GI Bleeding later for my paramedic course :/ How are you? :D

moonshineshadow: So you are trying to reach the state again where everything in the game slows down? :P
-laughs- It's always interesting when that happens. It's pretty rare, though.
Actually, just shut that off. Guess I'm not in the mood to beat my head against a wall for once.
*Hugs everyone (back)* :D

With all the things that can befall a farm, I can definitely see why farmers would band together and look out for each other. Way too many negative possibilities around at all times, having something good to help balance it out a little sounds pretty useful.

My family had pizza after I went to sleep... I get the refrigerated leftovers, which I love :-)

Thinking to myself that a paramedic course sounds pretty interesting, at this point. =)

Can't complain, just another late night. I do those a lot. -laughs-

Well, just loaded up the copy of Paper Sorcerer that you gifted me a while back. =)
Along with that, looking to maybe start playing Lands of Lore for the first time.
