EndreWhiteMane: What was so disappointing in HM2?
avatar
CarrionCrow: If you get bored, this'll cover the basics. =)

In the end, it's another game where I'm going to pretend there was never a sequel.
That's too bad, sounds like they really screwed that one up.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Turned out to be pretty quiet here.
Despite the Weather Channel saying it would be close to 80 degrees F this weekend and generally pleasant, a windstorm still came through, causing a sandstorm that would have sucked ass to try to do outdoor work in.

Still processing the ultimate disappointment of Hotline Miami 2, but if nothing else it's one more game for the completed pile.

Also, after doing the same simple cost total on my list as I have with other people, I'm realizing that finishing the list off is still going to take another 6 to 12 months. So now I'm trying to prioritize things into what I really want, and what I just want to have around.

How's your day been?
avatar
ddickinson: A sand storm sounds unpleasant. What has disappointed you about Hotline Miami 2?

My day has been very good, thank you. I had a very nice day with my partner and for the most part I am feeling very good today, I think the best I have felt for a while. I am tired though, it's nearly 2am here and I can't for the life of me get to sleep. I figure I will stay up for a little while longer then try to relax and see if I can get a few hours sleep before I am up for work.
Long story short, they screwed up the combat by breaking the flow and turning it into a slog, spread the story into a paper-thin mess rather than picking actual main characters and telling their story, the music was overused to the point of obnoxiousness, and the ending is a pile of shit.
Alongside all that, I'm getting the feeling that the whole controversy thing was left in just to generate said controversy, getting easily worked up people freaked out and the developer/publisher benefiting from it.

I'm happy to hear you've had such a good day, but still not thrilled that the general sleep dysfunction of the thread seems to have infected you.

I am sorry to hear that, especially given how exited you were to play the game and how much you enjoyed the first game. I just had a look at the game card and it seems the first page of reviews are not too favourable, so it seems other agree with you about the quality of the sequel.

Yes they did. I could've written a better, more coherent, more satisfying story for that setting with both hands tied behind my back, half drunk, sleepless, and typing with my nose.

Yeah...seeing enemies spinning in place because they didn't know what to do brought on immediate Zombie Shooter flashbacks. That's not good.

But on the plus side, it's reminding me that I won't be buying Pillars of Eternity on release day, that's for sure.
Not 100 percent that I would have with their whole shitty greedy 90 dollar version thing, and exclusive pre-order bonuses piss me off as well, but this experience seals the deal for the time being.

I will be okay, I know what has caused it. It's a side effect of working 20 hour days for those first few months of this year while both my parents were in hospital. Then add on all the unfortunate stuff that has happened since and it's just taking my mind a while to catch up and rest. Once it does I can go back to being one of the few here to have some regular sleep. :-)

I hope so. It's obvious that you work very hard along with trying your best to be there for those you love.
Doing that day after day without rest is a surefire recipe for complete overload.

ddickinson: Hello, genki! *big hug*

How are you feeling? I hope you are feeling better than you were earlier? If not, is there anything we can to to help, maybe just lots more virtual hugs?
avatar
genkicolleen: hehe, you're so sweet ♥

I took a long nap whilst the kids were out with their aunt, and that helped. So yes, I'm feeling a little better. ^__^

'course this big bowl of mint chocolate chip ice cream with marshmallows and chocolate syrup isn't hurting, either XD Now where did I put the whipped cream... lol~

EDIT: And now there's whipped cream~! Thanks for the reminder! XD
And now I'm reminded that there's whipped cream in the other room.
I think I know what'll be going on my 3 am coffee. -laughs-

Well I hope not complete overload, I have way too much to do :-). But I really will be okay, it's not the first time things have been like this for me. Thank you for your concern, people here are so very sweet.

We just do what we can to be there for each other despite the whole "everyone's scattered across the planet" thing. ;)

Like I said, very sweet people in here. :-)
Well I had better call it a night and at least try to get some rest.

Take care, everyone, and have a good evening!

Have a good night, sleep well when you get there. =)

Night DD.

Think I'll wander off to bed too. 12 hours of this is enough for one day. :/
See ya tomorrow.

Holy crap, you've been doing file moving for 12 hours? -shakes head-

Goodnight, and if you see Windows icons in your dreams? Delete them. -laughs- =)
Good morning, everyone who is up and about. It's 4.45am here, and my coffee is steaming on my desk.

It's 6C 43F right now, forecast to go up to 18C 64F, but there's a cold front coming down from the north, bringing rain - I hope so, I love the rain.

Hope you all had a good day or a good night's sleep, or at least a few hours sleep, judging by this thread.

Good morning. =)

10:09 pm here, no rain (a mixed blessing since I also love storms, but I'm not so fond of the frequent power outages that come with them), nursing an oversized cup of diet soda and taking a break from playing Nihilumbra, a really pleasant puzzle-platformer game.

How's your day going so far?
