GhostwriterDoF: We've never had a "Conversation Free-For-All" thread to contend with during previous sales as well.
avatar
CarrionCrow: Honestly? I'm focusing more on this one than the other. I'm used to being here, and I'm not hyperactive and agitated to get my hands on items since I already grabbed everything.
I was trying to keep up with all three threads, this, the official Insanity sale, and Sinister tracker, on day one,
and defaulted to this one almost exclusively by the second day.

Scanning through the tracker thread a bit but not even dropping into the official sale thread. heh

I've just got Risen and Hitman 2 to go, which a nice feeling. I'll be awake until they come around again, and then I'll have what I originally decided on. This is really a much more sedate Insomnia than the last ones. I haven't even started complaining yet...

For me it was this and the tracker since the official threads for big sales seem to be a bit dead by comparison.

Couldn't do three since the downloader's been killing my bandwidth for close to two days now.

The only thing that keeps me awake during the sales is chatting in the threads.

Definitely a smart approach. I had decided that I'd stay up through round one no matter what so I didn't feel like I had to stay up for rounds two or three.
Worked out pretty well, and I even managed to throw some impulse bargains into it with Lumino City and Gex.

Does that mean its nearly finished?

Still have about 5 gigs of Alan Wake-related items to download, but that's it. That's the last game or movie.

A forum like this makes a huge difference. There's usually some lunatic game mad insomniac in front of their keyboard most of the time (not mentioning any names) so its unlikely you'll spend much time waiting for some interaction.

Do yourself a favour and strangle him when you get round to playing the game.

Took all my pills and made a pot of coffee, be interesting to see which one wins. :-)

I know...believe me, I know.

Here's the thing.

I first got it for the 360. I like the developers, the developers made Max Payne and I love Max Payne, I hoped it would be good.
But it wasn't.
I played it, I beat it, and it went to my shelf to collect dust until the end of time.

But I knew there was what I thought was an expansion. I wanted to play that, but it was never cheap enough at the local game store for me to buy it.

Turns out that American Nightmare isn't an expansion. It's a standalone game. I found that out after I started bitching in the tracker thread about having to buy Alan Wake again, and ten people told me that I'd been wrong all this time.

So, I dropped 5 dollars to rebuy a game I don't like, while still trying to hope that what I actually wanted will be good, and as a bonus I know I'm stuck playing the original again.

If they were sleeping pills you're going to get more confused than those ladies make you...
Dear gods, I just looked...

Risen is in the newer games section. The newer games section is still 25 titles away from even starting its third round.

You might be in for a wait, Stilton.

They're not, but the side effects are pretty much like that. :/

If he was a real person I'd suggest finding him and crapping on his head for all the hassle he's caused you (he won't get away from you, not with reactions like his). As he isn't real I'd get him killed over and over and do a lot of grinning. Call it leveling the score.

I'll hang on for Hitman 2 then, and see how much pain I'm in for Risen. I might suddenly wake up, you never know.

Most people opt for an uncomplicated life, but I'm beginning to admire your 'who the hell wants that!' approach.

That game could've been good, but they screwed it up, which is why there won't be an Alan Wake 2. No one's willing to spend more money to make a sequel.
And yes, Alan Wake is an asshole who dodges like a freshly tasered buffalo. Those two things hurt the game pretty goddamn significantly.
Also? What in the hell was up with the driving sections in that game? Those things were AWFUL.
