happy to get Deponia for 46 euro cents!
Two beers gone, getting back to Witcher 1 after a few hours break. It's only noon here.
Good noon to-you!
Good morning ladies, gentleman, and what ever else crept in during the night! *hugs for the huggers and waves for the rest*

I hope you are all have a nice weekend so far?

Ragnarblackmane: ...
Thank you. But I must say, I was expecting a mighty Dwarf hug, not a bear hug. But a hug is nice either way :-). *rib cracking Battle Sister return hug*

There are many reasons why some people can not cope with dire situations. While it's true that many do so out of choice, and are glad to abandon their friend and family in time of need, others have little real say in the matter. Some people just can't cope with such things, emotionally or physically. Their survival instinct is to run, to hide and hope things will get better, a bit like we do when we are kids. While it's perceived badly from an outside perspective, I often feel sorry for those who jut can't cope, even when deep down they want to be there for their friends and family. It can't be a nice feeling, especially when it's beyond a persons control - the mind is a very strange thing indeed. You family is lucky to have you there offering support and doing what is necessary to take care of your parents.

I'm glad you are enjoying your game. I know what it's like to only play a bit at a time, due to your mind being all over the place. But it's good to just relax for a while and take your mind of things. My main escape, other than spending time with my partner, has always been reading, with games following behind in third place. So I often end up reading instead of playing games, but lately I am trying to play more games, to get my backlog under control. I don't think I have ever seen a Dwarven space pilot, except maybe for the Squats, but GW erased them from all history. But I'm sure your previous skills with the game will come back to you and you can become a galaxy class pilot again. :-)

The greenhouses are just for extra crops and more exotic crops during the warmer months. So no "special plants" here. :-)

I hope you have a fun weekend baking with your mum!

CarrionCrow: Good morning. =)

Maybe I'm just not caffeinated enough, but the only theme song coming to mind is me screaming about what a piece of shit Anomaly Defenders is.

Not very creative, I know, but it's what's coming to mind.

How's your day going?

j0ekerr: Doing all right, although the piece of crap cable-router my ISP provided just gave me a scare, I was browsing the forum on the phone allright, but when I switched on the PC it wouldn't connect me to the internet. I went back to the phone and sure thing, it had stopped resolving DNS. Fortunately a simple reboot solved the problem.

I have the first verse ready.

They're J0ekerr and Crow. Yes J0ekerr and Crow.
One is bananas, the other insane.
They're both unspeakable things.
They're genes are terryfying.
They're J0ekerr; they're J0ekerr and Crow Crow Crow Crow Crow Crow Crow...
Yeah, that's a definite scare, all right. It's always bad news when the net doesn't want to work like it's supposed to.

I hate internet-related crap. Every time the power goes out and comes back, I pretty much have to beat the hell out of the modem power button in the hope that I'll manage to get the damned thing to actually start connecting like it's supposed to.

Also, you now have me wanting to watch Animaniacs again. -laughs-

CarrionCrow: I think Anomaly Warzone Earth was the best of the bunch. The gameplay was interesting, there was a bare minimum of gimmicky bullshit for the missions, and they hadn't run the idea into the ground.

And yes, Anomaly Defenders is shit. Don't buy it. I wish I hadn't bought it. It's just fucking tower defense, like you said.
Also, it's really goddamn stupid tower defense at that.
Yeah, I agree. I loved playing with Anomaly 2's transformable units, but it still doesn't compare to Warzone Earth. I had a ridiculous amount of fun playing the first game (and the "Squad Assault" mode kept me playing for many more hours.)

The mobile campaigns... Are mobile campaigns. Nice to play if you are sitting in a waiting room, but they never should have bothered porting them to PC, in my opinion. They are just super-watered-down remakes of the original. If you have played the original, I don't see any reason to bother with them.

ddickinson: Well I hope you get a favourable report. Just remember that the report will self destruct after reading it. Or is that Inspector Gadget? :-)
Both actually, but le bon inspecteur always managed to throw the exploding paper back in the chief's 's face.

I kinda hated Gadget, he got all the glory while poor Brain did all the work and went unrecognized.

Also, oh dear, Don Adams voiced him in the american version?! That's awesome.

I've noticed that the developer has a thing for doing shitty mobile ports to PC.
I would also agree that the mobile campaigns are pretty much cut-down versions of the original.
But they're both better than Defenders.

Unless there's more than one well known Les Claypool floating around, he would be best known as the lead singer/bassist for Primus.

Just checked, it's the same guy. He does the theme song.

He wrote the theme music, if I'm not mistaken. (And for South Park as well.)

Times like this I wish I still got fucked up, but that's the one downside to having my barely-paying job:Drug testing.
*snip
You know I chat about the other stuff you mentioned in private whenever you need :) The above jumped out to me - you get drug tested? Wow fuck that! If you er ever wish to pass certain tests, PM me and I'll share some info. If it isn't in your blood and they don't test hair, most urine tests can be circumvented pretty easily, depending on what they are testing for :) And then there's what they don't test for...anyway I'm sure a clearer mind will do you far better in you situation.

Hi, meet me aka "no one" :P Another drunk dial from my mother has me disagree with your statement, especially when I called her the following morning to calmly and politely ask her to please stop doing so, and she was a total *&%! to me...

I am a scientist now. Part Spock, part me,

Go ahead,,, make fun...\

Leonard Nimoy died today. He was only 83.

and its only 3am.. and 14 students are looking to me for normal..

I'm totally packing up the house and the cats and getting out of Ohio...
I was saddened too, especially when someone mentioned his tweet to me about smoking. As a smoker of 23 years (well 19 of the past 23) whose lungs are really starting to feel the brunt of it, his comments (like Yule Brennar's famous ones) have me choosing a different course of action. I'm going bush to heal myself away from others. My grandfather (RIP) had emphysema 40 years after he quit, and I have not balanced the habit anywhere near to the extent he did.

Is there a mass exodus from Ohio? I met a traveller from Ohio today on the train station (Blue Mountains, Australia) and took him for a wander and invited him back to my house for some old-fashioned Aussie hospitality :)

Oh right, that's why I always saw his name in the title credits, the theme song is his.

I've been thinking about what DD said yesterday in response to my comment about Shades of idiocy putting all local DIY shops on high alert. Now I'm wondering what a conversation between a potential Grey wannabe and the shop attendant would be like.

Dramatis Personae:
Christian Grey Wannabe (a future candidate for a Darwin Award)
DIY attendant (someone who is well versed in suffering idiocy)

CGW: Good Morning.
DIYA: Good Morning sir.
CGW: I would like soft and hard leather, pipes both PVC and steel, some chains, an awl and 3 sets of handcuffs, also, do you carry cattle prods?
DIYA: Afraid not sir, nor handcuffs, you'll have to visit a specialty store for those.
CGW: (grumbles) Oh well, just give me the other stuff.
DIYA: What kind sir?
CGW: Pardon?
DIYA: What kind of leather, pipes and chains do you want? Thickness, weight, length, there are many different kinds depending on your needs.
CGW: I don't know whatever works best for a sexual torture dungeon.
DIYA: I'm afraid I can't help you there sir, you might require sturdier thicker chains than someone else.
CGW: Are you saying my girlfriend is fat?
DIYA: No sir, just pointing out that different people have different needs.
CGW: Right, well chains maybe, what do you use for suspension bondage?
DIYA: I don't.
CGW: (grumbles something about unimaginative boring idiots) Well, what about erotic asphyxiation, what do you recommend?
DIYA: Not to try it out without a proper adult.
CGW: I didn't come here to be insulted.
DIYA: No, clearly you get enough of that in the bedroom.

Despite how he came to loathe the character for pigeon-holing him in that role, he eventually made peace with both the character and his fans. So I think it's appropriate to bid him farewell with one of the most well known phrases of an extremely beloved character he brough to life so magnificently.

Live long and prosper.

I wonder if his burial will now become a pilgrimage site for trekkies.

I am coming dangerously close to quitting on Anomaly.

I should not be biting back the urge to scream at 4 in the morning.

If it was good, that'd be one thing. Hell, if it was bad in a funny way, that'd work.

But the endless slog makes me want to beat the developers with a Nerf bat.
