LaPtiteBete: Pretty well :-) I'm in the "enjoying my evening" phase :-D
What about you, lady ?
avatar
ddickinson: *hello hug*

I'm good, thank you. I burned my dinner a little, but other than that I have had a nice night.

I hear you are enjoying the quiet while the owlets are fast asleep. I hope you get a restful night and that you enjoy your quiet evening.

avatar
CarrionCrow: Good evening. =)

Doing okay here, thank you. Nothing exciting in progress, but that's not always a bad thing.

And you?
avatar
ddickinson: Good evening! *big hug*

You are right, sometimes nothing exciting is definitely not a bad thing.

I am doing well thank you. Just finishing off Mind: Path to Thalamus before I can move on to my next game.
I just started Planet Stronghold. -groans-

Definitely one of the bad items in my stockpile.

I have never heard of Planet Stronghold, a quick Google tells me it's a visual novel. I don't think I have really played any visual novels before. I tend to prefer a real novel instead. :-)

Have you ever played Mind: Path to Thalamus?

It's a visual novel with RPG crap mashed into it.
Not a game I'd recommend at all...But it's on the pile, so it needs to be cleared.

I have it on my list, but haven't had a chance to yet. What do you think of it?

I was not going to bed just yet, I was just saying that I hope when you retire for the evening that you manage to have a good night and that the Owlet will let you get some sleep. :-)

The meal was just some chicken in homemade breadcrumbs with some potatoes and vegetables. I got distracted while in the shower and some of it ended up rather crispy. :-)

I'm not always too keen on describing what I think of a game, especially when others could love it. But here goes:

For me personally, it's really boring. I just finished it now and it took me about 4 hours or so to finish, and if I took out all the walking and puzzle solving, then I could paste all the story element parts into about 5-10 minutes. There is hardly any story, just a few sentences here and there and a bit larger section at the end, the puzzles are so dull and repetitive and there is little to go on as to what to do on each puzzle (it's always put sphere here, put sphere there, but there are other tricks you need to do). It's easy to mess up some puzzles, which can cause a lot of backtracking. The story really isn't anything special, and judging by some of the comments on the credits, the developer designed the game to be "art" first and a game second. The visuals are lovely, especially for an indie game, but for me personally, it was just too dull. I wanted to stop it after an hour, but I kept going hoping it would get better. It didn't, it just got more complicated and repetitive. I picked it up as part of a DRM Free bundle, so it's not too bad. But I would definitely recommend you wait for a very good discount before you get it on GOG.

But again, we all have different tastes, and you could love the game.

dd,
The cream of the Super League have a chance to topple three of the biggest names from the NRL in the expanded World Club Challenge. Warrington host St George Illawarra on Friday night and Wigan take on Brisbane Broncos a day later, before St Helens meet South Sydney on Sunday to determine who are the world champions.

It's a line from 'Achmed the Dead Terrorist', I won't post links here because it's not appropriate but if your interested look it up. ;)

Don't worry about it. You described your experience, and did so well.

Every review is subjective, nothing is ever definitive. Some of the biggest pieces of crap I've ever played have fans.
(No idea why, but they do.)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on it. =)

The writing's shit, the combat's repetitive, the graphics are virtually nonexistent, the sound fluctuates between being dull and shitty.

Needless to say, I paid very, very little for it. Certainly not the ridiculous standard price they want.
