With bad games, I clear them because it feels incredibly silly to purchase something and not clear it. I don't buy things for them to sit.
In all honesty, though, the only pleasure I receive from such things is the feeling when they're done, so I never have a reason, rational or not, to ever touch them again.

I have a few like that.

But fortunately, I have far more games of quality than ones that aren't. Out of 750 or so titles, I'd say the ones that scream out in their atrociousness would be less than 30.
Yes, that one's an old favorite of mine. Used to rent it a fair bit from the local video store after finding it as a fluke one day.

Tarantino, Cronenberg, Lynch...Some of my perennial favorites. =)

I can understand that. I have to admit while I will probably also play the games I have, I tend to just put the games I do not like when playing to the end of my list, telling myself I will play them should I ever beat my backlog :D

I enjoy a lot of the older books, especially around the era of HG Wells and up to the mid 20th century. I'm a big fan of fantasy and Sci-Fi, but I will give most books a chance, except for a few, such as romance novels or all these zombie books we are getting now. I also try to avoid books that are too Americanised (no offence to the lovely American here, but sometimes I get tired of the whole American being the center of the world and always saving the day while insulting every other nation).

I'm not sure I really have any firm favourites, I love a lot of the classics by some wonderful authors, like Wells, Dickens, Tolkien, Orwell, etc. But I enjoy a lot of modern authors as well. I am also a sucker for Warhammer 40K books, even though they are not that well written for the most part. The whole future world crossed with World War One and Two has always appealed to me. I probably read more Sci-Fi, philosophy, poetry, and history stuff recently, but when I was growing up it was a lot more fantasy novels. A lot of what I read is historical stuff, as that is my number one passion.

Gods...just checked the stockpile and I still need to do a full run of Borderland 2.

I am so burned out on that game, and I haven't even cleared all the DLC to it once. Damn it.

Is the problem with the movie that it's trying to appeal to younger viewers? Most of the good films from yesteryear were made for adult, 18+ certificate (or the US equivalent), while many now are stripped down so as to be acceptable for younger audiences.

I don't think so. Younger viewers wouldn't give a crap about the "at what point does a human stop being human" back and forth they tried ham-handedly to engage in.
I think they wanted a brand with recognition to try to make a quick buck on nostalgia. I think this because of their inclusion of things like the ED-209, some of the same music from the original, things like that.

Course, they did it all wrong, and it all served to remind me that I could be watching a far better movie.

I have some favourites. For fantasy there are the books of Brandon Sanderson. I really like them since they all have so many good ideas in them and are really different from each other. Not that normal kind of fantasy setting you often have in books.
And also "The Raven" series written by James Barcley. I really like the characters there and the story itself.
Of course there are many other fantasy authors with great books (Brent Weeks, Tad Williams, Trudi Canavan, Anne Bishop, Peter Brett) but those mentioned above are my favourites. Beside from the obvious fantasy classic Tolkien ;-)

For historical novels I really like the books of Ken Follett and Rebecca Gablé (not sure if the latter one has books translated into other languages, she is a german author)

What little movie knowledge I have goes back about 15 years or earlier. Anything since then and for the most part I'm hopeless. :-)

If you want a fun movie from Cronenberg to watch, I'd suggest Crash. Just find it in its uncut NC-17 form if possible.

From Lynch, I've seen Mulholland Drive and Lost Highway repeatedly. I'm a sucker for dark movies.
Also, their soundtracks are both incredible.
Still need to sit down and watch Twin Peaks from start to finish.
