ddickinson: I think there is a very dangerous outbreak of Ninjas these days. And none seem to be Japanese. o_O

That is good to hear. Did you get anything you have been looking forward to?

Thank you. And thank you for the hug. I will be fine, just a lot on today due to a few things. And now they are stopping me from sleeping as well. But oh well, we all get days like this, so no point in complaining about them.

I just saw we have an early weekend promo here. Do we know if there is a reason for that? Not that I really care, I am not the biggest Telltale fan.
Yeah, the voice I heard definitely didn't sound Japanese...

The game I mentioned was one of the high priority items, then the aforementioned ninja got it for me out of the blue.
Will have to look at it all when I'm done, see what stands out.

You're quite welcome. And yes, that's true, such things happen, but you can still vent if you want or need to.

No idea on that one. All that comes to mind is recommending Wolf Among Us. Have played through the first episode and I'm enjoying it overall.

They are usually American or European in my experience. :-)

That is some good ninja skill then to get such a wanted title. I hope you have lots of fun with it.

True, but I think I am too drained to vent, so no worries. But thank you for the offer.

And thank you for the recommendation, but Telltale games are not really for me, at least these interactive movie type games. I did play their Sam and Max games, and I was not that big on them for the most part, it just seemed like a lot of random nonsense stuck together. I think if I was to try one (which I don't), the only one of their interactive movie ones that I would probably try would be the Borderlands one. Not that I have played the games, just that the setting appeals to me more than the others. I am not a fan of Game of Thrones at all, and the whole Fairy Tale in New York stuff is also not really my kind of thing. And I know little about the zombie one, but again, from what I have seen that is not for me either (I know, I am super fun tonight :-)). But I know many love the games, so it is nice that we have them here. And I am definitely glad you and some of the others here like them and have been enjoying them, that is always good to hear.

Around here, they seem to be, yes. ;)

I think I will. The acting looks good, as opposed to the 90's FMV games that had such ridiculously cheesy performances.

Not a problem, anytime. =)

Don't worry, I'm not a huge fan of the Walking Dead titles either. Liking Wolf Among Us much more than I did playing the former.
In agreement with you on Tales from the Borderlands, that one will probably be good. Have played it a bit and it captures the humor of the Borderlands games pretty well.

But the cheesy performances were often what made the games seem fun, and they helped cover for the limited gameplay and rough edges the games often had. :-)

I can't say I know too much about the Borderland games, having never played them or seen them being played. But I like the look of the setting, and I have heard it is a nice Telltale game for those who enjoy the format.

And I hope you can resist the urge to play the Minecraft ones. :-)

Maybe for laughs, but some of it still got on my nerves after a while. There's so bad it's good, and just bad.

It's very accurate to what the Borderlands games are like, which is always good when you're doing a game based on someone else's property.

-laughing- I don't give a shit about actual Minecraft. The Telltale crap is more cringeworthy cash-in garbage.

That is true. I have not played as many games as you, so most likely I have avoided a lot of those so bad it is really bad FMV games.

That is a nice thing, I never really like when they make too many "artistic" changes things based on already established works. It vary rarely works.

That is good, I was just making sure you were not that crazy yet. I do wonder how popular they were/are on GOG. Sometimes it would be nice to get a decent view of games and their sales out of curiosity.
Anybody know where I could buy some computer games cheap?
Why is the "weekend" promo lasting a whole week?

G2A? :-)
(I think that is what it is called)

That's not a bad thing...-laughs-

True. If you're going to do something based off another game, you typically need to get as close as possible to every aspect you can. If your tie-in game doesn't feel like it's connected to the preexisting world, you've screwed up.

Not sure. If Telltale managed to latch onto a decent percentage of the Minecraft crowd, they could have done quite well. It did well enough to warrant them making an expansion to the game.

Yeah, I hear they're very reputable, I'll go there, thanks.
Steam sale is the same as last time, 80-90% off of the cheap shit and 0-30% off the top shelf stuff.
Meh.

I know, there are benefits to not having a big games library. :-)

You end up with the Hobbit movies, I guess (I have not seen them, but I hear they are terrible, and nothing really like the book). :-)

I guess Minecraft is pretty huge, so it makes sense there are lots of fans of it here. And I guess since the forum is only a tiny representation of GOG's customer base, we have no idea what the vast majority like.

It is, I hear they even sell insurance for their trustworthy codes. There was another one beginning with K I think as well, but I can't remember that one. But that was also a trusted site. ;-)

Failing that, and if you would like to support an indie store, I suggest you check out a little place called Steam. They only have a limited catalogue, but you never know, they might have some nice deals now and then. But stay away from GOG, they have DRM-Free on (questionably) all of their games, and we all know DRM-Free is bad. :-)

Sugar Free, Gluten Free, Alcohol Free and now DRM Free? What's this world coming to?

I never understood alcohol free alcohol. But then it is like vegetarians eating things that taste like meat. Either have the real thing or or don't. People sure are weird. :-)

Hello, Mr Endre!

How are you today, did everything go well at work?

*sleepy hug*
