GhostwriterDoF: ‘tis a fine day indeed, and I did manage to get up before the dawn.
I am usually up at 5/5:30am, so I usually get to enjoy the dawn, and the sunset. Both are just wonderful, especially in the countryside with no buildings blocking the beautiful view. :-)

GhostwriterDoF: I also found your earlier post touching and inspired, in a most sincere way. :)
Thank you. I keep regretting mentioning such things though, as I feel I am just making the place feel all sad and depressing, so I will try to stop mention such things so as to keep this place a nice and cheerful place.
nvm

Are you sure? Good or bad I would love to hear. Like I said earlier, I am always happy to lend an ear.

Edit: What's wrong? What post are you after deleting?

I am sure. You do not want to know. It just hit me bad a moment ago and I wrote something mean... I hope no one saw it since I regretted it the moment I saw it posted. And wished I could delete it.

Well I did not see anything, did you write it in this thread? Not that it matters, but please know that I genuinely am here if you need to talk. Sometimes it can help to talk to someone, even if it's just online. But please don't feel like you have to, only if you want to. Don't be too hard on yourself. We all have moment when we do things we regret. Usually they are not as bad as they feel at the time.

Yeah it was here in the post I edited into "nvm" and later adding the thing about deleting.

I’m usually up at that time too, though I’m in the big city outskirts, so the beauty of the sunrise is too often obscured by my surroundings, and distant freeway noises echoing from early morning commuters making their way through life in the fast, and not so fast lanes. A trade off for access to all the modern conveniences I suppose. I’m a country boy at heart and never could fully acclimate to city living.

Do try not to regret writing from the heart, especially when it is part of your nature to do so. We all deal with issues, have the good and bad days, and share a kinship in many things. Your contributions to the on-going conversation here express a good balance of human decency, empathy and silliness. As most of the regulars in this particular thread do.

Well don't worry about it. I was here and never saw it, so chances are no one else did. And if it's not something you feel like talking about, then as far as I am concerned, it never happened. So please don't let it get to you. As I said, we all do things like that from time to time. :-)

ddickinson: On a more cheery note, what do you all think of this weeks staff picks? Any of you getting a game from the promo?

Also, what are your thought about Sanctuary RPG?
http://www.gog.com/game/sanctuaryrpg_black_edition
Brutal Legend is supposed to be quite good, but it's more of a pick it up for less than £1 if I have spare cash kind of game because other than getting good reviews I know little about it.

Sanctuary RPG doesn't really appeal, I do love ASCII games, but usually the roguelike kind like ADOM or Dwarf Fortress. I'm not sure about the ASCII style they use.

Hey everyone :)

I know what you mean about living in a city. I am a farm girl born and bread, and I just love the countryside. I lived in a city while at college and later university, and I was not too keen on it. Nothing wrong with it, but it's just not for me.

Thank you for the kind words. I just do not want to be the one who mentions the depressing topics all the time, I want this place to be a nice and friendly place, fully of silliness as well as serious topics. The people on this thread are indeed some of the most wonderful people I have met online.

Happy, sad, angry doesn't matter. Just share whatever you feel like sharing.

Hey everyone :)
Are there many commercial ASCII games? I am not that up to date with games, only those that come to GOG, so I am not sure if it is another retro phase that we are going through. The whole ASCII thing is nice, but not my thing, especially for a modern game.

How has your day been?

Not really that I'm aware of, they're usually free games that I've played, although ADOM has a version coming out on Steam I believe, but I think it has tiles and normal graphics.

My day's been fine, had some annoying paperwork to do but it's sorted now.

How about you?

Hey everyone :)
I watched my roommate play Brutal Legend, the graphics are good, it is fully voiced, Jack Black plays the "starring role" but the gameplay is just not cup of tea. It is a good game, maybe even one worth having in our collections. It is best to watch gameplay videos to get a good idea of whether or not a game will be one you want to play, as opposed to just want to have in "the collection".

The sheer size of the download and space needed to run the game is enough to make me put it off.
