Fuck yeah, congrats to the developers! Witcher 3 is a remarkable game and very ambitious project, and deserves all the praise and attention it can get.

As for the rest of those awards, there's definitely a few odd ones, such as the GTA "innovation" award, or this one: Gaming Platform of the Year: Steam.

What were those guys smoking? I mean, Steam has been around for a while now. Have they actually done anything major this past year, to earn this award? I mostly seem to remember drama related to mods, and some vague memories of other negative Steam related news. And their Steam-Box(?), controller, and VR setup have yet to be released, as far as I know.

PookaMustard: Amen!

darthspudius: haha they've got a long way to go to do that.
So, why exactly are you still here? And when was the last thing you posted that wasn't related to promoting Steam over GOG? Or do you actually have quite a few GOG games (supporting GOG in that way) as well as Steam games?

011284mm: Playfire Most Played: Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
- What, have people been doing nothing but playing six copies of GTA:V 24/7 ? DOTA has got to have more play hours this year per-person then GTA:V, especially on PC where I understand Playfire supposedly gets its metrics.
Considering the alternative, its great that GTA V got a winner spot. What, Dwota?
Innovation of the Year: First-person mode in Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
- That was not an innovation. It might have been back in the 80-90's but now we have hundreds of thousands of first person games. Most do it better then GTA:V
Yeah, seriously, this is no innovation at all. But if this was an innovation, what will be called an innovation next time? Also, since the Golden Joystick puts for you the candidates and you vote on them, it means that this first person thingy was viewed as an innovation. I mean what the hell?
Best Handheld/Mobile Game: Fallout Shelter (Bethesda)
- Really not going to argue, but this beat Candy Crush. Really?
I'm going to argue. A terrible bethesda game won. What do I smell?
Most Wanted: Fallout 4 (Bethesda)
- I get it, but I feel a little upset it was this and not Hitman 6. I really am looking forward to never getting to play Hitman 6.
Have no comments, but surely Hitman 6 would've been a better choice.
Gaming Personality of the Year: PewDiePie
- Dear god, WHY? That shrinking BLEEP.
No, just no.
Best eSports icon: CounterStrike GO - Anders Blume
- WTF? I have absolutly no idea about this. How did no-one from the StarCraft competitive arena not end up getting this. I mean there are hundreds of them being watched all the time. I have never even heard of CS:GO, I know there is a Hitman GO though.
First there is no such thing as eSports, second CounterStrike GO is just a vanilla shooter. Battlefield is surprisingly more fun than it.
Gaming Platform of the Year: Steam
- Ha, rigged. There was PS4, XBone Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo 3DS* and Steam, but no PC.
* Should have also had 2DS to really make sure that Nintendo got trounced.
Oh-hoh! So now instead of mentioning the PC's glory, it is now mentioning Gabe Newell's fake glory! Soon enough, all our PCs will be called Steams by average joes. I refuse to believe that steam can be plural!
Best PC Game: Grand Theft Auto V (Rockstar)
- Nope, here should live the Witcher 3. I bet this was mostly clicked by PS4/XBone users as they had no other choice in what they knew. No CoD to vote for.
Last time I used GJ, they had a skip voting option. That and the PlayStation and Xbox guys didn't chooser CoD either.
Ultimate Game of the Year: The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (CD Projekt RED)
- No offence CDPR - I even bought the game - but no. Ultimate game of 2015 has got to be Candy Crush on every other phone around the world. It out numbers you on downloads, play time and probably financial gain too.
It is still shit, but you have to admit it has a bigger audience, and billions of players. So really you lost this one.
Must admit you're right on Candy Crush... *sniff*

Who said anything about favouring Steam over GOG. GOG is flawed, they have issues and until they work them out they will never be up there. Why does it have to always be about favouritism? I'm a believer in say what you want, do what you want. So if I think this, I should be allowed to voice my opinion on the forum of the company that needs improving.

mechmouse: Though I prefer to see a game list "steam" as its platform rather than "PC", when its tied to steam.
But get this... it runs on PC.

As someone that does not support steam, I do spend a lot of time on tne steam forum. Why? Hopefully to help improve the system and to counter the sycophants.

Darthspudius is no different.

GoG is good, but is not great and steam does hsve the whistles that people find attractive.

But all this good press and the success of a DRM free AAA title will hopefully see GoG gain more ground so in a couple if years valve gets the serious competition it needs.

Thank you lol. I don't think people realise how much GOG community is turning into the Steam community. I use both programs and are quite happy to criticise both when I feel it is necessary. It is a shame we aren't allowed to be so open minded.
Can't wait to have a PC that can handle it and a Linux port to play it.
Enough time to play the first two games meanwhile. ^^

I may not agree with many of CDPR's politics, but congratulations for surviving such an ambitious project, let alone having such a success. Most of my favourite RPGs killed their studios.
Hopefully this will lead to more DRM-free AAA titles.

PookaMustard: Congratulations CDPR!

But what, CS:GO is an esports icon? There are two wrong things with this achievement. Go figure it out. I bet Valve paid Golden Joystick to make up this award.
uhm Cs has been a esport icon since 1999. Don't mistake your ignorance and prejudice for facts mkay?
The Witcher 3 is a new benchmark for RPGs, a game so astounding on every level from its morally complex characters, mature relationships, grimy fairytale aesthetic, and satisfying quests. I had no idea if it was going to be any good (remember, CD Projekt hadn't done open-world before), but any doubts have been blown away. Congratulations to them!

Hey, PookaMustard, we fucking get it. You don't like Valve.

Nobody cares.
Yeah, totally! It was hard earned and well deserved!

Something must be fishy about those rewards, though, or they must have not been updated... Specifically, best multiplayer is GTA V? Most players, if not all of them, pan it, because it had microtransactions (initiated on that deceptive sales and meant to have the game go on sale without price reduction, technically...), got full of hackers and destroys everyone's online fun. Something REALLY must be wrong with those rewards. The witcher ones though, sound legit. Game IS a masterpiece.

omega64: How is first person in GTAV an innovation?
Fanboys dont have any need for logic, they see their beloved game in a list and vote for it no matter what.

Edit: I really have to say some of the decisions are more than cringe-worthy. *shudders*

Edit: For example, Bloodborne won the Best Original Game Award...WHAT !?...its a friggin Dark Souls reskin...

Gaming Platform of the Year: Steam
that was funny :)
great news and congralation CDPR - will help them to reach a even bigger audience with next game as their public profile gets more known. GTA 5 best multiplayer though ?!? I enjoyed it but well the horrible lobby-system, long connection times and hackers still stand and bc of that it shouldn't be best MP game .
Same for GTA 5 best PC Game - MGS5 and TW3 superior imho.

Yep, you can just picture Gabe striding up the central walkway surrounded by stormtroopers to imperial march.
