kn1000a: Think you meant to say the opposite. It’s because Jast games are uncensored that’s why the site is blocked from Japan. Japanese censoring laws and all that stuff.
Use a VPN to bypass the block.
denormative: I have no idea if their recent games are uncensored or not; I'm blocked remember? If I search on gog or steam they literally don't show up, so I don't know any recent JAST releases and haven't for at least the last 7 years. I only noticed this one since Gog sent me an email advertising it as coming soon and then wouldn't let me see it so I googled it and found this thread.
I do recall getting censored games in one of their fukubukuro's way back in the day when their games were on shiny disks and I lived in a different country, but maybe it wasn't one of their self published ones.
As for VPNs, part of my job is to put in these regional level blocks, and given the laws on circumvention of access controls I'd rather deal with copyright laws. Copyright is simple, clean and have defined punishments, security laws are vague, badly tested, and heavily putative.
Even ignoring that; do you think JAST, who blocks access to Japan, would accept my Japanese credit card? I have no idea if vpn spoofing would cause problems with my steam or gog account, but given I've got hundreds of games with over a decade of history on both, I'd rather not risk losing them. :/
If you dont want to risk anything
paying a prepaid card and then using the prepaid card to buy stuff on gog or other places migth be an option
those are anonymous and cant be traced to any special person
As a tradeoff you will lose some money since the ammount of money on the prepaid card is usally a bit higher than the cost of the game or games if you buy several
Though the store youre using and the contry youre residing in have to support such methods.
Note i havent tried this method here on gog myself so take it with a grain of salt
Also, having the game itself in your account does not get you banned
There exist gifting here on gog and People generally travel
Gog woud then have to prove that you cheated and not travelled physically which is quite hard to prove if youre using VPN
As long as you dont abuse VPN to get games more cheaply elsewere i dont think gog woud care too much
takes a lot of recources just to check up if somone is cheating with VPN once in a while
Allthough i migth be wrong
And if that doesnt work or you simply dont want to take any risk at all
Depending on the price of the game i migth gift you a copy or trade you later when the game is out. Its says still coming on the game page
Just need a reminder a bit later in case i forget
