Seryuu: The voice acting is the original Japanese one, only the trailer has English narration.
I was also going by the store page's language which only has English as a voice language option, GoG needs to update the store's page to reflect this!

Given these aren't compliant with Japanese law, aren't sold in Japan, and are being sold by a US based company, you're completely off your rocker.

Zimerius: In the Netherlands we have a saying. "The exception confirms the rule".

For example. My friends grandfather smokes without having any health problems. Smoking is not bad for you.

Wrong!

Smoking is bad, in general, some people can smoke for their entire lives without seemingly having too much trouble with it. This does not mean that you can't say that smoking is not a bad habit, because it is.

I hope you can forgive my late reaction. I simply missed the question

JuWalk: You answered without actually giving any answer. If we are talking about fictional characters, what does it matter for you - what do they look like or what age is indicated for them?
Well think about it, please believe that i possess some intelligence (just some though) and that this answer was given with some thought.

Reaper9988: Ahh I didn't want to but here..... my grandfather had a war injury and was a chain smoker and he died at 89.
What does that have to do with anything ? I have no clue, Cigs are 18+ just as AO games are.

You want to shelter kids from the reality of the world forever ? I suggest a cage and a deep cellar but in all honestly you left the path of making sense a while ago.
They are sheltered as good as society can shelter them, there is no absolute safety and especially teens will do stupid shit.
They need to make their own experiences, otherwise you will just end up with a bunch of unworldly Humans that can't stand for themselves or deal with their own problems.
Wait what am I talking about.....we are basically already there.
OK. I read your answer

Lodium: Theres a lot of stuff thats bad for you
Eating too much is bad for your health in the long run
Doing extreme sports can be bad in terms of injuries, in some extreme sports or physical activity you can even die if youre unlucky enough
it can even be dangerous to go outside or do stuff in your home if youre unlucky enough
Drinking Alchohol/booze is also bad for your health
Even browsing forums/surfing on the internet , watching tv or playing games too much can be bad for you
(Yes, theres actually people that have died playing games too much because of a combination of bad health and lack of sleep/rest/breaks or simply because they forgot to drink water).
what i want to point out that a lot of fun stuff or even neccary stuff like work can be bad for you especially if its not done in moderation.
Understood & agreed. Moderation is indeed key, unless something is criminal ofc ;D

Chasmancer: Better than Activision, EA or Tencent heh.
Agreed as while they have a odd policy reguarding Gore the Japanese gaming side of things they at least seem the most open to the majority of stuff other countries iether never had been or hasn't for awhile or not as open t em as Japanese game industry is in games atleast

Nope, that was an attempt to get away from a direct answer. So I repeat my question, and will repeat it until I get a direct answer: What does it matter - appearance or actual age? First or second, without further ado. And remember - we are talking exclusively about fictional characters who cannot suffer or harm others. No need to drag real peoples in.
So uh when is the actual release date ? 7th is obviously not it.
And yet another game which is notable by its random inexplicable absence from the New Zealand version of the GOG store without valid reason, while the game is available here on other platforms. I'm getting the impression that GOG is doing what physical stores used to to and treating Australian classifications as a reason to deny NZ customers access to games.

I would say you are right. How's the law in NZ for 18+ games ?

Unless they've removed the mosaics, it's not that they're not compliant, it's that JAST doesn't sell even their translated censored games in Japan. Even their jastusa.com website is blocked from me getting to it due to region based blocking.

It's probably a licensing things, but I've suffered from this for years, and can only get their games via torrents.

Japanese logic doesnt make sense in a lot of cases.
The reason ive heard is that Japanese companys want to sell to their own market before going international
they argue that this will gain them more money beacuse the games are already in Japanese
and if they sell games that are realesed intertationally but still sold in the home market it will somehow undercut their home market even if the game is cencored or even if the game is realesed untranslated internationally.
This applies especcially to physical versions and if theres a chance to diversify the product line wich has to do with the fandom/otaku culture in japan

Personally I woud say it doesnt make much sense in either case
if its physical then the sales only last untill youre sold out domesticly wich woud then restrict the buyers in japan abilty to buy it from overseas
and if its digital only you only makes it harder for fans to get stuff legally
They probably also take into considertation stuff like lincencing and currency exchange rates

I've seen Japanese eroge both censored and uncensored on steam fine from Japan, so I think it's not that, I think it's mostly just that JAST is old.

JAST is an old company in this space, I'm pretty sure they've been selling boxed copies of their games long before steam existed, let alone Gog, and it's only recently both have allowed eroge on their platforms. Their contracts would have been negotiated long before the idea of a "world + japan" market really existed. Even 10 years ago I had to have to be in Japanese region language mode in windows to get some games to start, let alone play.

It's probably much simpler to just keep releasing games outside Japan, and ignore the small english-speaking-in-Japanese market instead of having to renegotiate decades old contracts so they can open up their store to all comers. Some people will torrent it even if they can buy it, so the rounding error of the people who have no other way of acquiring the game will just get lost in the noise. /shrug

Think you meant to say the opposite. It’s because Jast games are uncensored that’s why the site is blocked from Japan. Japanese censoring laws and all that stuff.

Use a VPN to bypass the block.

Huh, what about the japanese laws on cencorship in Japan?
Maybe they arent as stricly enforced as i has been led to belive
i really thougth at least that was pretty stricrly enforced
of course somone managing to sneak around this by using loopholes or importing from abroad they cant really do much about.
But i thougth Jast or steam had to comply with the japanese laws surrounding erotic art/adult stuff at least.

I have no idea if their recent games are uncensored or not; I'm blocked remember? If I search on gog or steam they literally don't show up, so I don't know any recent JAST releases and haven't for at least the last 7 years. I only noticed this one since Gog sent me an email advertising it as coming soon and then wouldn't let me see it so I googled it and found this thread.

I do recall getting censored games in one of their fukubukuro's way back in the day when their games were on shiny disks and I lived in a different country, but maybe it wasn't one of their self published ones.

As for VPNs, part of my job is to put in these regional level blocks, and given the laws on circumvention of access controls I'd rather deal with copyright laws. Copyright is simple, clean and have defined punishments, security laws are vague, badly tested, and heavily putative.

Even ignoring that; do you think JAST, who blocks access to Japan, would accept my Japanese credit card? I have no idea if vpn spoofing would cause problems with my steam or gog account, but given I've got hundreds of games with over a decade of history on both, I'd rather not risk losing them. :/

If you dont want to risk anything
paying a prepaid card and then using the prepaid card to buy stuff on gog or other places migth be an option
those are anonymous and cant be traced to any special person
As a tradeoff you will lose some money since the ammount of money on the prepaid card is usally a bit higher than the cost of the game or games if you buy several

Though the store youre using and the contry youre residing in have to support such methods.
Note i havent tried this method here on gog myself so take it with a grain of salt

Also, having the game itself in your account does not get you banned
There exist gifting here on gog and People generally travel
Gog woud then have to prove that you cheated and not travelled physically which is quite hard to prove if youre using VPN
As long as you dont abuse VPN to get games more cheaply elsewere i dont think gog woud care too much
takes a lot of recources just to check up if somone is cheating with VPN once in a while
Allthough i migth be wrong

And if that doesnt work or you simply dont want to take any risk at all
Depending on the price of the game i migth gift you a copy or trade you later when the game is out. Its says still coming on the game page
Just need a reminder a bit later in case i forget
